Re: Designfab Subaru caliper rear disc conversion on YN67 is

From what I have read, apparently the knurling on the wheel bearing cover studs is too big to fit through the axle tube flange holes. You either need to - cut your brake backing plate down so it is like a spacer (or a backing plate eliminator like you can use on the front) - drill the axle tube ...

Re: LN106 + 80's + Pos 30 rims???

You will need to use an early 80 series front diff (pre 92) with the smaller brakes if you are going to use 15" hilux wheels. In saying that, i would check if the +30 rims will clear the steering arms and calipers first anyway. What width rim is the -22 rim you are using now, and what width is the ...

Re: custom 80 front diff help

If you want to make the 60 diff wider, use IFS hilux hubs. It will make it approx 3 inches wider, but will increase your scrub radius (technically how much the wheel moves forward and backward when you turn). If its only going to be 800-1000kg's, im guessing its a buggy and that wont matter?

Buds Customs up here in Qld makes 80 series ones out of Bissalloy? You could give him a ring and see if he can make Bundera ones?

Re: 100 series 4.2lt turbo efi lacking power

I tighten the turbo charge pipes every time i service mine and the father in-laws 100's. I have picked up a noticeable difference afterwards. intersting, ive never done this. You mean the inlet air engine side of turbo>? not the exhaust flange? The charge pipes. From turbo to intercooler and back ...

I use Kill Rust gloss black spray cans from Bunnings. They have satin stuff as well. Now they stock theyre own brand though.
Not as good as the one above, but cheap and easy to reapply.

Re: 30mm OD, 15mm ID spring bushing source

Why dont you use the Hilux 30mm outer/18mm inner and make a metal sleeve that fits inside to give you the correct diameter for your bolt. ie, try and find 18mm outside diameter 1.5mm wall tube and push it through the bush like a crush tube (i dont know if you can get 18mm tube?). , or 20mm outside ...

Re: i have afew questions to ask about a 82 dualcab hilux

1.Yes the 2L will bolt straight in. I swapped all of the old brackets and mounts from my L to the 2L. I believe the 3L and 5L should be similar, but i cant confirm this. 2. Depending on how sagged the suspension is (if it is standard) you will easily fit 31' tyres, maybe 32" without rubbing. This ...

Re: Hilux/ 4 runner brake problem, help

This will be a 2 person job. NOTE - your wife or girlfreind will complain of a sore leg when finished (and probably during) LOL. You will need someone to pump the pedal several times (full strokes, slowly). On the last pump, hold the pedal down, and crack one of the master cylinder lines and let it ...

Re: Hilux/ 4 runner brake problem, help

Does it make the whooshing noise with the engine running? If so, the whooshing noise will be a split in the booster diaphragm. You will need a new/reconditioned booster. You should have a firm pedal though, and it will be very hard to push with no vacuum assist. I would put a booster on it first and ...

Hi mate. I have a 98 Hilux with 2' body, engine and trans lift. Everything sits in the factory position. No moving the radiator, no changing hoses or wiring, no shifter problems. I have made my own gearbox crossmember and it only hangs down approx 35mm from the chassis rail. Now no getting hung up ...

If you want someone in Brisbane, try Fulcrum suspension. Probably wont be cheap, but they should be able to get them quickly.
