which springs do you guys recomend wanna small lift 2 or 3 inch and what sort of tyres

For the ZF auto swap what are the major things to watch out for in the SWAP.

I am considering doing an Auto swap on my disco. I believe I currently have the R380 gearbox ( it is a 1996 Disco).

- What are the gear ratios of the ZF ?
- Will my crawl ratio be better ?
- Will the ZF be able to handle more abuse than my R380 manual ?
- Will there is a be a lot of power loss ...

Inititally I am planning on 33's while we develop this 4in kit, and once we are happy with that I plan to go to GQ front and 80 rear with custom links. So Im not real keen to spend much on the rangie diffs, was just curious to know what was inside them.

Thanks mate. I guess the other type of ZF4HP22 with a computer is the ZF4HP22H. But even the 4ZFHP22 came with different ending number that I believe have some difference in gear cuts.

I didn't know there were high comp 3.9s? The comp ratio is generally stamped right above the engine number on the block anyway...

The High Compression comes with 9.35 stamped on the engine.

The Low Compression comes with 8.13 stamped on the engine.

Both stand for compression ratio 9.35:1 ...

Anyone know the suffix on the engines of a 3.9 L High Compression versus a 3.9 L Low Compression.

I am mounting Allied beadlocks wheels on Simex 36"X12.5 ET II. The outer bead of the tyre seems too thick and comes down in two stages which does not allow the locking ring to sit properly and be able to be tightened correctly with the screws.

I have a Camel Trophy steel snorkel with the falt ait intake....When driving in rain the snorkel is sucking water into the air filter box. When I disconnected the hose water was not longer coming in....

I am thinking to make new air intake with a more inclined top so that it will not suck ...

I tried the truck yesterday with the 2 similar tyres in back....
everything running ok.

I think the tyre difference is what caused the problem.

It seems that with an open diff running 2 different sized tyres will cause damage at highway speeds

i thought of the maxi axles twisting and I know they do twist but I was on snow which has low traction effect.

Re the two diiferent tyre sizes, the ARB will spn the two axles at the same speed but when you have different tyre diameter.
Think of it as :
v1/36" = v2/34" = W ...

One of the tyres jumped off the wheel and wheel was slightly bent installed my spare tyres a 35" MTR Good year.....

When I engage my rear ARB the two rear tyres are not spinning in tandem ...
