The reason I asked in the first place was that I found quite a few GQ's for around $5k. It's not hard at all to find them but most people were of the consensus that if they were $5k then they must be crap. As it will be my first 4x4 I wanted advice from "experienced" people as I do not want to go ...

Found a way to possibly up the budget to $6500 - $7000. Now do people think I can get a good GQ for that? I want one on gas as the extra budget will necessitate lower running costs. Although answers may be somewhat bias ( I should have asked this at the start ), do people think a GQ is a good first ...

Thanks for that BIG GQ. Thanks to everyone else for their advice too has been very helpful. I will keep looking, I haven't given up finding a GQ yet. Found a few auto GQ's aswell, they seem to be cheaper, is that because they're not very popular, no good offroad or something. Whats everyone's ...

There's not much chance of me saving up more as I'm not working at the moment, just finished studying and I need a car for work. I'll keep my eye out for a GQ but I won't hold my breath. I think I'll end up going MQ/MK as I like the idea of having money left over to tinker with, which is what I ...

Buying my first patrol

I am after some advice from experienced patrol owners. I am 90% certain I am going to buy a patrol. I have a budget of $5000 and it will be my daily driver (driver very often on road anyway). It has to have air con, that is my only must have that I can think of.

I was originally going to look for a ...

I won't be buying it to tow, I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't expecting too much when I will have to tow the bike on the odd occasion. It would only be short trips aswell so being a bit slower wouldn't bother me. The zook wouldn't stay stock for long so if I went larger tyres I would ...

Towing with Sierra

I am contemplating buying my first real 4x4 and a zook seems to be top off the list. Way too many positives over negatives but I guess most of you already knew that. A few questions though. How hard is it to come by one with air con? This is a must for me. Also was wondering how well they tow. It ...

I'm in NSW, it is a SWB and has about 10 months rego. I think it has 31in muddies aswell. I was just after a rough guide as to what I would have to pay for an MQ/MK (must have air con). This will only be the second 4x4 I have bought and have no real idea on what patrols are worth. Thanks to everyone ...

I was hoping some of you knowledgable people could tell me what is a reasonable price to pay for an 82 patrol, manual, petrol, air con in reasonable condition? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My brother had one like that fitted to his car. The usable capacity of his was only 40 litres. I'd be double checking the size of it. My brothers was dual fuel hence the need for a compact tank however he would only get around 130-140km out of the tank. I don't think that would be too useful.

Bundera suspension

I read today that Bunderas utilise the same 5 link set up as the 80 series, is this true? Does that mean you could fit an 80 series 5 link kit from mannel, calbah etc to a Bundera.

I guess it must be the luck of the draw then. I have a woolworths servo just up the road from me and that is all I use. I have used them ever since the woolworths servo thing started and I've never had a single problem. I can't comment on diesel though but I always use their unleaded and premium.

Front end shake in Bundera

I recently purchased my first 4x4, a 1990 petrol Bundera. When first driving it it had a small vibration through the steering between 70-75 km/h. It has now progressed to a rather violent shake anywhere between 70 and 90 km/h, this however doesn't happen always. It pulls to the left on level roads ...

Recommendations for first 4x4

I am looking at buying my first 4x4 and would like opinions on what would be a good start. Will be trying to keep costs down spending around $6000. Would prefer it to be as comfortable as possible(e.g. air con, power steer) as will be used on road regularly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
