The reason I asked in the first place was that I found quite a few GQ's for around $5k. It's not hard at all to find them but most people were of the consensus that if they were $5k then they must be crap. As it will be my first 4x4 I wanted advice from "experienced" people as I do not want to go ...

Found a way to possibly up the budget to $6500 - $7000. Now do people think I can get a good GQ for that? I want one on gas as the extra budget will necessitate lower running costs. Although answers may be somewhat bias ( I should have asked this at the start ), do people think a GQ is a good first ...

Buying my first patrol
I am after some advice from experienced patrol owners. I am 90% certain I am going to buy a patrol. I have a budget of $5000 and it will be my daily driver (driver very often on road anyway). It has to have air con, that is my only must have that I can think of.

Towing with Sierra
I am contemplating buying my first real 4x4 and a zook seems to be top off the list. Way too many positives over negatives but I guess most of you already knew that. A few questions though. How hard is it to come by one with air con? This is a must for me. Also was wondering how well they tow. It ...

I'm in NSW, it is a SWB and has about 10 months rego. I think it has 31in muddies aswell. I was just after a rough guide as to what I would have to pay for an MQ/MK (must have air con). This will only be the second 4x4 I have bought and have no real idea on what patrols are worth. Thanks to everyone ...

Bundera suspension
I read today that Bunderas utilise the same 5 link set up as the 80 series, is this true? Does that mean you could fit an 80 series 5 link kit from mannel, calbah etc to a Bundera.

I was wondering who would be best for full comprehensive insurance. Is there anyone who covers you when offroad. Opinions and experiences regarding claims etc would be very helpful.

I had a look at the bushes today and they all seemed fine. No sign of detoriation. Please excuse the lack of knowledge but is the panhard rod the one that goes from the right chassis rail to the left front of the diff housing. If so these bushes seem reasonably new.If not which one am I looking for ...

Post Bundera pictures please
I have tried to search for Bundera pictures but due to old posts being compressed the pictures are no longer there. Could owners or former owners please post any pictures of modified Bunderas and list what was done to them. I would just like to get an idea on what I can do to mine.

Thanks for the info Brian, I will have a look tomorrow. Suspension is stock and tyres are 31/10.5/15. I was very surprised at how quickly it got bad. Went for a drive to Brooklyn today from out Penrith way. On the way up it was fine, I was remarking at how smooth it rode. On the way home however at ...

Front end shake in Bundera
I recently purchased my first 4x4, a 1990 petrol Bundera. When first driving it it had a small vibration through the steering between 70-75 km/h. It has now progressed to a rather violent shake anywhere between 70 and 90 km/h, this however doesn't happen always. It pulls to the left on level roads ...

Recommendations for first 4x4
I am looking at buying my first 4x4 and would like opinions on what would be a good start. Will be trying to keep costs down spending around $6000. Would prefer it to be as comfortable as possible(e.g. air con, power steer) as will be used on road regularly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the advice Brian. I don't mind the fact there isn't much aftermarket stuff as I like making what I need anyway. At this stage I don't want to modify to the extreme and if I do catch the bug(which doesn't seem that hard from what I've seen on this forum) I will upgrade to something else ...

New to 4wd and was looking for a cheap first 4x4. Was wondering if people could give me their opinion on a turbo diesel daihatsu rocky. I don't mind the look of these and you seem to get a fair bit for what you pay e.g. air con, power steer etc. It won't be used for any hardcore stuff and will be ...
