Re: difference patrol mq / gq

MQ is a different beast. Still tough but on leaf springs not coils which of course means different chassis. Motors were different, transmissions also ! Doors were interchangeable & maybe some other bits but not as sought after as a GQ. Get a GQ if possible more comfort, more capable but more dollars ...

All types are or have been available ! I would love a PTO job, but very hard to find the Patrol PTO . They used them with the Patrol ...

I need a couple of small items on my GQ engineered. Larger items done by TIC at BBM open day ages ago. Can't get hold of them now. Any one have a recommendation in Sydney, north side would be nice ! Have had a seat change, a 1 inch body lift to incorporate a suspension brace, & this on top of ...

Thanks Clanky, this sounds right as there has been more than enough moisture in the air lately. I will watch the water level & check that I get no more bubbles at the mating surface. I may not have an issue. Thanks also re advice on gasket & VRS. & gasket thickness. Appreciated. I'll get on with the ...

TD42 Head gasket ? G'day all, Ihave drops of mpisture coming out the exhaust or my gq TD 42 . Have been just shifting it in & out of the shed while prepping it for paint , so running stone cold. Thought this produced moisture only in petrol motors. A while back ( and not much distance back ) I ...

Thanks Adam, I will try cleaning the pick up filter, although I thought blowing right back into the tank from the fuel filter line with a workshop compressor would give me at least a temporary fix. I certainly had not considered the timing so that may also be worthwhile. Thanks for the tips. Ian

TD42 Engine Misfire?

Have a 1988 TD42 GQ SWB, 268000km, has developed an engine miss when accelerating through the gears. It is not consistent, meaning it doesnt happen every time it is accelerating. It is almost like an electrical cutout as power picks up immediately after the missfire. To eliminate any possible ...
