I don't understand the computer thing as well as some of you blokes so I hope the bellow link works. I can't upload an image of the red beast. No matter how many photo's I jam into that floppy drive thing, still can read them. maybe the photo's a too floppy for that drive.

Gen 3 LS1 horse power to boot and the light weight advantage. Use the standard Chev adaptor kit and away you go. As listed on a previous threas don't try and drill and tap the top bolt hole in the block missing and you won't have any probs. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm Do most of it yourself probably for about 7k...

There is no dobt those beast are heavy but are a tru pack horse. For a big vehicle they are very cabable off road with the correct tyres and once under full noise. The rear spring packs are load sharing but I have seen them if weighted or lazy sprung on one side chew tyres out on the rear in a big w...

Hi confused now or what. Cloughy has some good points about different conversions. I'm currently 4/5 through a Chev conversion just waiting on a new water pump before I push too much further. It hasen't been all that bad. My biggest mistake was not buying a complete engine flywheel to pulleys etc. T...

Electronic Automotive in Melbourne will also re do the computer. and turn off all the BCM stuff. He will also programe to what you wish. You tell him what you intend to do and he will taylor it for you. Give big torque anywhere you want it. Don't get hung up on just the Kilowatt figure. Plus if it's...

It may sound silly but check for other oil leaks under the car. A diff pinion leak or similar throwing oil onto your exhaust gives the same result for persons following. Look for the oily black stain on the exhaust pipe and check all the way from the exhaust manifold back. Won't take long and hopefu...

what goes ddddddddddddd in and engine
Just an up date on Chev Conversion. The answer to what goes dddddddddd in your engine? A big end when the oil pump decides not to feen it enough oil.. Anything under 3,000rpm and two litres of morey's is fine in short distances. So the conversion kit is on its way the extra parts for the chev are on...

Head light relay
Hi I need some advice on the best head light relay. 76 rover was running the large box style duel relay which you can still get from all over the shop aftermarket. I think TRICO or similar do them. Prob goes is that Ive fryeddddddd two in fairly short time. The last one did both high and low coils o...

Auto-eng, these are real figues for flywheel and to be honest unless someone has actually done this conversion then dyno you will be hard pressed to work out rear wheel from engine figues or vic verka. 3.5 efi RR produces 116kw flywheel. new. 153 hp. 1UZ-FE produces 205kw flywheel. new. 271hp. If yo...

Hi chris, The notch that you are getting about eveery 90' is most likely 99% your stearing shaft uj's. For the past 10 to 20 or 30 years of our vehicles at standard they only ever had to rotate throught a cirtain radius / angel. Then us folk grab the rigg and throw 2" lift in the body and they now h...

HSVrangie (Michael) I advised on very knoledgable ground that if you use VN or VP Delco you firstly? don't have BCM (will check that fact tomorrow) and providing you don't run an auto you can delete the speed sensor. If you use VS VR its fixed in to deal with the electronics of the auto. You can als...

Chevy 262 Bore: 3.671" Stroke: 3.1" total volume 262.5ci Straight from chev data. what ever that makes it I'm not sure the chev nuts gone away so I can't ask him. It'll be a good start. I've heard of concerns before with the 400 siamese bore but a good gasket set normally fixes that. That project is...

Yeah J Top it is the baby of the Chev range. It helps when a mate is giving the motor to me and other than setting up a EFI system on it it will only cost me a gasket kit to finish putting together. Add to that the calculated power figures using Dyno 2000 I can't argu with the chev. with EFI, mild c...

Big Steve I did some asking of questions for you and myself about the speed sensor matter. The bloke I spoke with knows his stuff and that cannot be denied (won't name on line) He stated as long as your not hooking up to an auto you can rid the system of speed sensor. The speed sensor essentially se...

Hi from what Ive just read above the Toyota seems easy. Love yo know about axles into CV'S etc. The front toyota diff centre is the same on the Hilux as in the 75 and 60 series Landcruisers. the rear is the different I'm advised. Our racers here in Darwin are running very strongly on Hilux/Cruiser f...

Do yourself a cheap favour adn get the gas man to finish the last part. If you start cutting to many wires and or short some running back to the computer it will all go pear shaped. They won't charge much for this last tidy up. All the hard work has been done by you so if in dobt still don't risk it.

Doesn't sound good. Try and check these. Gas freezing up is only one thing and that is insufficient water in the cooling system. You must have running coolant throught the converter for them to work and if not they will freeze up. I'm not sure but if there's total internal failure on the converter i...

Hi I owned a MQ 3.3 diesel for 6 odd years and yes as a sherman tank in the recovery game it was great. My vehicles spend time recovering race trucks from our mud racing venue in Darwin. Marks are certainly the go I think. They offer a conversion / adaptor plate with spigot and all bolts for the 4 or 5 speeds at $650 plus another $160 for engine mount plates to bolt straight onto RR. Sump needs to be rear drop. Radiator seems not to be a big problem as all in and out are the same si...

Chev conversion
Hi folks. I offer a warm smile from hot and sticky Darwin. I have a neat 76 RR. For today I'm hoping someone can put me in touch with Gary Stewart who attended the Watagans Stae Forest trip. I saw the article in the Sept 04 4WD Monthly. Looked great. I saw Gary's RR stating it had a Chev conversion...
