Seems only one tank. If there is a second one under there it has no obvious filler, gauge or switch

90 Series Prado tech
Hi This is a very noob question for the once mighty Outers but it is pretty quiet in here so... I have a mate who has bought a 1998 90 Series TX Prado with a 2.7l petrol engine. He was led to believe it had dual tanks but now cannot find a sub tank switch or "see" the tank looking underneath. Now ...

Re: Best drop down fridge slides & pricing.
As far as I have seen there are expensive drop down fridge slides and more expensive drop down fridge slides. Buy yourself/your partner a step and spend the saving on a bigger fridge and or beer

There's none listed at the moment, but this is what you're after. Send him a message and he'll probably put some more up. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300893944406 or you can go direct, he sells the components separately. http://rijidijoffroad.bounce.com.au/#/home ...

When I painted my tinny I used etch primer first.
I had no luck finding something that would go and stay on without primer.

Re: Long range tank compliance.
Interesting. I bought my 80 last year and it came with a replacement second tank (LRA I think) and it passed roady for transfer of rego and I haven't seen a blue plate anywhere. I will have a bit of a look when I get home. I bought it off a guy without much idea (he had only owned it for 6 months ...

Have a read here http://westsystem.com/ss/assets/HowTo-Publications/Fiberglass-Boat-Repair-and-Maintenance.pdf Just out of interest what size, type of boat are you looking at and what is your intended use? Also you should think about how far you will need to tow it to your regular launch site, if it ...

Re: school me on second hand boats
What GBC has said is on the money. In an older glass boat stringers and floor will need a good check as well as the transom. You will need a torch to look inside any access points you can find. A quick check that you can try for transom rot is with the outboard trimmed all the way up and any travel ...

Re: Coil Trailer Suspension
Dilza-69: I had a look and cannot see any shock absorbers. There are bump stops, but no dampers and nothing I can see which will stop the springs from falling out when the trailer goes over a large bump and the springs extend. I like the spring setup for the trailer, but I think that some more gear ...

If load rating is an issue the 16s are the go.
For what it's worth I run 285s on 16s on my 80 and find them great.

I have also done the cape with a tinny on a trailer. Was the same trip a CT mentions above. I didn't modify my trailer as much as he did but I was starting with a bit bigger trailer to start with so I just bought some heavier leaves, sprung the axle over and replaced the standard ball with an ...

Off topic Snip Matt and northside both make good points, but as also mentioned resale stays high on the diesels. matt on another note i dont know of any diesels that would use as much as 15L per 100 and in the petrol 100 i know of never got close to 20L it was always more like 25. Snip I know ...

Re: GU VS 80 or 100
The diesel is cheaper to run is an interesting one. As I said above I have just bought a 4.5 petrol eighty after owning a 4.2TD Patrol ute. I decided that the difference in price of cars in this bracket and as it is not my daily petrol was probably a better deal. Below are some rough numbers ...

I was in a similar situation recently, had to sell my GU ute due to the arrival of our daughter so needed a wagon to take camping but not for daily duties. The 16 x 7 rims I took off my 80 series RV last month were 0 offset. When I sold them on ebay many ebay experts suggested they would be many thing including +25 but I measured them and they were definitely 0.

This isn't a long term solution but I had the same problem with my GU. I found a local servo who's driveway was on an side angle. Parked with the filler on the up hill side close to the bowser. Worked a treat.

Re: Wagon camping set ups
There may be room for a single mattress beside the fridge but it would be a squeeze. I can also tell you that camp fridges seem quiet until you have to sleep right next to one. I spent a trip to the cape sleeping in the back of my ute next to the fridge and that thing woke me just about every night ...
