89 TD4.2 LWB 375000 now with turbo 16psi
serviced every 5000ks doesnt use a drop of oil..

i have a GQ 4.2 diesel, just fitted a turbo glide system
to it 600k ago, running 13psi boost. engine has 375000
on the clock. just wanting info, my inlet manifold gasket
is leaking oil!!!!!! is this sinister or just a gasket????
it blows no smoke through the rev range, aside the normal
black sooty ...

spoke to local exhaust shop, they said a 3" dump pipe
wont bolt up, (it will but cant get in to do nuts up on back of waste gate)...
he suggested go 2 1/2" from back of turbo strait through!!!!!
i dont no much about surfs but i suppose that would work ok
to me.....

could any one please tell me where i can get larger
dump pipe (ie 2"-2.2") in QLD. i run a 2" system with
a hot dog. i figure matching the dump pipe will help
the bottom end. a phone number would be good.
any help is appreciated.... :)
oh its a 2.4 turbo diesel surf 94 model.....
running 32" big ...

does the starter motor need pulling down and cleaning??
rebuilding??? mine done a simillar thing i just pulled it down
and found it was full of 10years road grime and mud....
its been fine ever since. i had to do this twice, first time was
a half arsed effort

. do it once do it right....

I have the 4.3's, they go in first, turbo basiclly ready,
drive it on 33's see what happens then tyre decision.
i was hopeing to just swap diff pumpkin front and rear
but want to keep front lokka and rear factory lokka.
few more hours and beers.... should be worth it though!!!!

he just wants it for general 4x4ing and to look good.
does anyone no if he needs to change diff ratios to run
33's????? he is going to wind up fuel pump and turbo to
help matters out...

i've a 4.2 diesel love it awesome torque off road down
low need a turbo on hilly hiways. friend had 2.8 turbo great
on hiway needed more revs off road not as much torque. both
good trucks though...
my 4.2 diesel has 367 000klm not been touched

found out its a 94 model 2.4 turbo diesel (IFS) open rear
diff running 30x9.5x15 ???????
not much more i can say. hes fitting a 3" efs lift. consisting of
wound up front end with 1" blocks (for ifs) 2" coils and 1" spacers
for rear.

a mate of mine has a surf,,,,, (import) he has lifted it 2"
(IFS) coil in rear i think it's a 96 model. currently runs
30x9.5x15 tyres. he wants to run 33x10.5x15. i've herd
he should run 4.8 ratio's to help the little 2.4 turbo push
them round !!! does any one no if this is right???????????

a mate of mine has a gu 4.2 turbo wagon on 35's. he's had a
bit of work done to the fuel pump, he had 3.9 ratio's then
put in 4.6's (35's). it goes like all stink but i'm sure i recall
him saying it rev's a little high!!! he does a lot of hi-way
miles to. but of road has heaps of low down grunt ...

with 4.1 ratio's and 33's my speedo to gps is out about
5klm. when 4.3's go in it should be spot on with 33's ???
our ute (GQ) 4.2turbo has 35's and 4.1's runs well on
the h\way but off road it's a little tall in the gearing.
every truck is different, but for conversation the speedo
to gps is out ...

sounds like a fair call to do all engine and exhaust mods first,
then tyres and gearing.. i'm still trying to track down second hand
turbo manifold, as the one i have is shagged. also a turbo
air box!!!!!! the turbo is of a gu ute, it should bolt strait up
and give me enough power. im not after a ...

sounds like i should put turbo on first, then decide from there.
but i think 33's with 4.3 ratio's will be the go with transfer
gears 35's 4 play !!!!!!... i belive it should'nt alter my fuel
consumption any to be concerned ..... it shall be fun

sounds like 4.3 are the go with 33's. i have 5" lift so 33"s
4 touring and 35" play tyres and transfer reduction
should be a good combination!!!!!!!!!

i run 33's 4.1 ratios 4.2ltr diesel LWB turbo comming.
is it worth the hassel to fit 4.3's??? i do a bit of touring/hard 4x4ing.
or 4.3's and 35's??? any thoughts would be good.

asking for a mate. to run 33's on his 93 model 2.4ltr turbo,

just after feed back. putting new batteries in GQ swb
it has a small dry cell as secondary (runs fridge winch)
and big wet 15 plate for main. both r 600cca just woondering
if i should have both the same ie, both wet or dry batteries.
