wrong, transmission wind up occurs because a conventional transfer case(no centre diff etc.) forces the front and rear diffs to turn at the same speed. manual or auto it wont matter.

myself and local 4wd store did some digging around and can see no reason why 33" tyres would be illegal on anything that listed 7.50 16 on tyre placard.well known local tyre dealer also agrees. we found on average that 7.50r16's are specified by their respective manufactures to measure 819/820 mm o ...

what pings me the most is that this was probably an isolated incident.for example, today the same copper is probably going to drive past a 4by with 35's. if the police are going to enforce tyre rules on 4wds,then do it everyday of the week. and by the way, my car was just resprayed and looks very ...

qld-infringement notice for 33" tyres?

stopped at a set of lights this morning, police drive past then do a u-turn and pull me over. They tell me my tyres are sticking out to far.....BY 8 MILLIMETRES! and then tells me that 33 x 12.5 tyres are illegal and to take them off, bingo $75 fine and 1 point. I suggested very diplomatically that ...

a mate is looking at buying some 280/85-16 bias ply silverstones.are they any good for a weekend warrior? looking at them i dont think they'd grip much in the dry but would be o.k. in the mud. that said they are only $210 each brand new!

GU c.v.s to G.Q housing

As anybody done this successfully? the inner axle splines are the same, so was thinking of using GQ axle. The swivel hub area might be tight but could always diegrind  Have yet to strip my axle and trial fit, so if what i have said so far is crap, let me know :D
