Re: Clutch fluid growth
Different brands mixed but all Dot 4. That is fully replace the fluid with different brands. Shouldn't be an issue if you don't go from dot 4 to dot 5 I believe.

Re: Clutch fluid growth
True over time it will absorb moisture and break down. Never seen this sort of thing where it starts to form a gell nor in such a short period of time. No other vehicle has ever done it this quick nor does the brake reservoir do the same. Only guess is that the brake reservoir is much better sealed ...

Clutch fluid growth
Hi, Hope someone can assist. At the start of last year I noticed some sort of growth in my clutch reservoir, almost like a light jelly towards the bottom. Using vac I replaced both brake and clutch fluid. A little over 12mths latter I notice it's coming back. No change in the clutch operation. If I ...
Thanks will do. It's diesel. Firstly, is it petrol or diesel??? If it is petrol, the ignition should have nothing to do with it shutting down rough as that is what is shut off when you turn off the key. The computer should also shut the fuel off when the ignition is shutdown too. I would think that ...
Re: Timing
Pretty sure the injection guys just set it to Nissan specs.
Thanks
you timing sounds like its too advanced causing preignitions so retard it
Timing
Hi, Ages ago Nissan changed my timing when I said on shut down it was very rough and sometimes ran on. Have recently had injectors changed and a bit of a tune. Obviously they have set the timing back to spec and now it's again very rough on shut down. When turning off the engine wants to jump out of ...

Air tank pressure
Hi, What tank pressure is usually used in trucks? I have an approx 10 litre truck air tank but no rating on it, second hand so no idea of age. It's welded (longitudinally) so not seamless which will de-rate it. I can make some assumptions but am trying to get a better idea. I've no idea what range ...

On top of the body mount, my mounts had compressed and the nut had bottomed out on the thread. Hence the noise as the body moved around from the rubbers being marginally loose. Though not loose enough to be able to move by hand. so I used thick mudguard washers (large ouside dia) and drilled to suit ...

So do you think it really did make much of a difference? Did it help fuel economy? Did you actually feel higher torque or did you find only the response time improved? Guess I'm trying to see if it really is worth the $$ and effort. My gut feel is that if anything only response time could improve ...

ZD30 to 4.2 turbo diesel
Put this in general by mistake. Hi, I'm thinking of doing the ZD30 air box lid conversion. Has it been determined to be a good change or not worth the $$ and hassles?? If it's worth it. Will it sit under my AC hoses? My Air Con hoses run over the top of the GU diesel 4.2 air box outlet so if the the ...

GU tappet adjustment interval
Hi, I notice that the GU 4.2 diesel has tappet adjustment scheduled every 20k. It was done via dealer at 60k I checked it at 80k with almost no difference. Now done 110k and would rather wait until 120k to check. Do you think this is to long?? Has your experience been that the gaps really do move ...

Hi,
Pretty much same as above, over 100kph it's high. Over Easter travelled approx 600k's on 90l with about a ton on the back at around 90kph. Sounds slow and it felt it but that's about 18mpg in old figures so was very happy with that. It also included some very soft sand.

GU radiator cap
Hi, Anyone know what pressure radiator cap the GU 4.2 turbo diesel uses?? Mine has a genuine 1.1 bar cap, wanted a spare and I'm told it should be 90kPa even nissan offered a 90 so what's the go.
Thanks
Thanks

Moisture in compressed air
I've fitted an air compressor and tank to the patrol. I recall magnum compressors (now liquidated) had a small cheap water trap you could put inline. Does anyone know of a source for these type of units???
