I used to make biodiesel and just have to tell you that if you are running it make sure you change your fuel filter really regular.... It is a REALLY good cleaner and will clean out your tank and lines from soap and crap from bowser diesel..... This can cause blockages in the line and filter but ...

yeah I did think of that but its the mounting and bumpstop locations that I wanted wider although they will be converted to 4 link.... How much narrower than a gq is the mq exactally?

curious to know whether I can use standard parts to widen MQ diffs. was thinking about 2 inch wider by cutting the housing ( either long or short side) and extending 2 inches then HOPEFULLY using a standard axle from another model that has the same spline that is the right length.... I looking at doing a similar thing to the overlander but fitting GQ diffs with 4 link instead of leaf springs ... do you think it will have any real engineering problems? why not just go to autobarn or supercheap and buy trailer spring mount brackets.. they ar only a couple of bucks and some hightensile bolts to suite... they are folded and drilled all you have to do is drill 1 hole in the end for the pin / high tensile bolt and away you go.....EASY and best of all ...

Im thinking about building a hybrid 6x6 and was deciding what diff to use... I have heard that the VN commadore diff would rival a 9 inch in strength... Is this true? I have seen these things hold up to massive abuse with over 5lt eng and big / wide tyres.... Surely with all this u beaut technology ...

well here is my 2 bobs worth... 2 door rear springs in the front and 4 door rears in the rear give a 2 inch lift with fairly soft ride and good artic the 80 series shocks are good for front but to make the front work you WILL have to either make a 4 link up (as i did ) or remove the front radias arm ...

before i mod'ed my front to a 5 link I ran 80 series shocks and removes the front radias arm bolt from the passengers side when I got off road. this stops the bind up caused by the 2 bushes fighting eachother during flex. Again this will wear your bushes quicker .....but after 12 months mine showed ...

From what I can remember dont some winches run off your power steering pump?... I dont really agree with this as there is not the oil volume ness for cooling.... But I have tossed around the idea of a second power steering pump conected to a tank... poss small air tank... and fitted with an aircon ...

I have a similar system on my rangie.. I made a plate that attaches to the spring and a pnuematic ram mounted over the spring mount ( where the shock tower was) This allows me to push the spring down 300mm giving me lift when needed and still having spring travel at full lift... Its neally completed ...

when you do it make sure you fit an air cleaner on it preferebly oil soaked and give the intack a dose of castor oil regularly I did hear of a gr8 trick to make them oil free... get some slick 50 or even better Bitron and join the suction and discharge together put in some treatment of choice and ...

Thanks for the feed back... looks like hunting down a lower left air con is the go.... Just to let you know the air compressor will be inflating my truck airbag in the rear and 2 pneumatic rams in the front that when all pumped lifts the sills to over 800mm clearanceand still rides on its springs ...

Im not sure if they did but you may wanna try looking at the leyland trucks... again im not sure exatally of the model but I know they had planetary hubs and I know of a guy who started playing around with them with the intention of grafting them onto landy / rangie diffs....
