Re: 1HDFTE Landcrusier Convert manual to auto

Since its a manual and the 100 does not come with a TD manual option. It sure did come with a manual option on the HDJ100. But they seem to have a lesser value than the 5sp auto. AFAIK the utes didnt have an auto option with either 1HZ or 1HD-FTE. also my mistake though-I had assumed crikey was ...

Re: 1HDFTE Landcrusier Convert manual to auto

I wouldn't rule out the idea of selling it. They are rare and you could charge 10 grand more for it, and people will come from the otherside of the country to buy it. Then you could by an auto TD with alot less KMs, or a similar one and load up on all the fun bits. Think you'll find its the other ...

Its a D4D and it doesnt have an intercooler? Whatever you do dont let them screw around fitting stuff to it til its running right. I dont think these run like the old days, ie if the turbo dies it continues pumping in lots of juice and hence black smoke. There'll be some stupid sensor compensating ...

I would imagine that in order to eliminate all the emission gear, you would have to eliminate all petrol equipment?
isnt the LS1 designated 5.7 rather than 350? I know they are the equivalent displacement, but that is why I would assume that you were referring to the old motor.

Im tossing up doing a swap on my Hilux. Options would be either a 1KZ (who has done one?) or the venerable V6 Holden and use the auto also as it has better ratios in overdrive and put it on gas.
