Re: Stump Dumbdunce - The challenge is on

Find another brand of brake shoes that are manufactured locally and to the original spec out of a locally grown business.

and several thousand k's later thank Dumbdunce for his persistence with logical process and analysis.

At one stage I ran Bio diesel and ended up with problem similiar. Check the fuel filter - bad batch of fuel can make a mess .

Re: Intercooler and boost pressure on a 12ht

I have a front mount cooler on a 2h and I have been running for years now on about 12psi boost. Goes well and works well with a 12ht you can do a lot more boost as the engine was already designed to run turbo.

They rock. They are cheaper and easier to maintain than 80s.

But you need to get one without rust in the pillars or roof.

heres mine.

2H is an easy pleaser especially when turboed and auto and no rust.

ditto Dennys' call.

They are bloody good trucks without cancer(rust).
Maybe get a compression check if you can for the kays.
This wil help with the truth about its service life.

Do you have a an equalising pressure line between the gearbox and transfer?

It is made up from brass 10mm bsp fittings and allows a transfer of fluid between box and transfer, the leak from the rear could be normal pressure build up on the new seals...............maybe. :?:

I loved my old 2h turbo. It was a weapon. I had a Denco turbo kit, then i custom fitted a front mount intercooler. Used to run 13psi boost. Never had any dramas. Sure a 12ht is a good motor, but the 2h isn't given enough credit for being a tough old girl. It would keep neck and neck with a ...

Coming up to 8 years I've had mine - it is diesel. But these trucks are as solid as. Rust in the roof line fiind it,sort it out quick and you'll never have to think of it again. Heres mine WOO55Y My wife said no to a new truck - not enough go or tough enough to play i reckon thats significant. ;)

80 rear diff will bolt straight into a 60. they are a fair bit stronger, much heavier case, bigger side bearings, gears are more or less the same but better supported so less likely to break. all 80's are LSD or locker rear.

As quoted by Dumbdunce- my truck runs an 80s diff
