Got my 20" single row Aurora from http://www.ledlightco.com.au for $395. Cheapest I could find and it's awesome. Good combination of spread and spot and going by all the info I could find virtually unbreakable.

Re: 1hdt 80 series exhaust question

Thanks for the replies. Any issues with fitting 3" between the transfer and chassis? Will the 3" be a strait fit or will it have to be ovalled? Also have you had the exhaust shop weld you up a custom dump or is there a dump pipe available off the shelf to suit? I was originally looking at ...

1hdt 80 series exhaust question

Just about get a custom exhaust on the 80 series and wanted to put a 3" exhaust inside the chassis rails (will sit between transfer and rail). I have heard that this has been done before, but wanted to know if the heat off the exhaust will affect the transfer or transfer oil in any particular w...

Put some socket head cap screws (12.9 tensile rating) i think.Get them up nice and tight also check ya wheel bearings have NO play that'll go along way to solving your problem. X2 on this.. I run the 10mm socket head bolts with no problems. But I reckon the 8mm ones would be heaps! When ordering th...

Re: Ford Ranger - farking anoying beeping

Take the panel off that sits below the steering wheel (where the height adjuster is) and disconnect one wire off the ignition barrel. Problem solved.
Forget exactly which one it is but try one at a time. Done this on a couple of Rangers now and no problem at all.

Lockers with or without couplers

I've had a search and couldn't find the information I was after. Can someone explain the differences of a rear locker for Sierra with or without couplers. I understand the one with couplers doesn't utilise the side gears. Is the one with couplers smoother in operation? What are peoples experiences o...

Re: 82 Rangie. What mods for 36's or 37's

Nissan GQ or GU diff/axle assemblies, or Nissan front and 80 series rear (for matching diff offset). If the patrol/cruiser F/R combination is used, the closest match for stock gears are probably 4.11:1/4.1:1 though it is possible to get 4.11:1 gears for 80 series. Cut guards. Edit you can probably ...

82 Rangie. What mods for 36's or 37's

Hi. New to the Rover scene. Recently purchased an 82 2 door Rangie. 4 speed manual, maxi drive diff locks, maxi drive axles. What modifications does everyone recommend to be able to run 36's or 37's? Do diff ratio's need to be changed? I know the transfer case and gearbox are one unit so I guess cha...

You do not need to grind the housing at all.
You will need to take the nuckle off to fit the cv in though.

Can anyone see an issue lying a D34 yellow top Optima on it's side on the passenger side (terminals toward engine)?
More of a question about heat as I know the Optima's can be mounted any which way.

Ok. Since found the noise is coming from the brake assembly. If I clean the brake assembly up is there any product I can use on the brakes (oil/grease) that won't have an effect on how the brake works? It's very dry in there at the moment and causing the brake to seize intermittently. Cheers, Paul

82 Range Rover binding up

G'day everyone. Just got myself an 82 Range Rover the month. Put it into 4wd for the first time the other week and now it seems as though it won't disengage 4wd (on roads it binds up around corners etc). I'm assuming the centre difflock is staying in for what ever reason. No matter what position I p...

It's also still running a chain driven transfer case. A roctoy ring won't fit it, so I believe he has got one custom made. After all the work that went into this car it would have been a pretty minor job to put a 1.3 leafy case in with some gears to make the low range more useable. Have spoken to th...
