When I first read that Bill was out due to a prob with the auto I wondered it was a result of letting Wally do the driving again like he did last year in the sand! But then I noticed in the scores that Warren is navvy this year...so I guess it can't ...

You can usually get the OBC DVD in the UK - Give it a month or so for the distribution to make it over here.. The DVDs are usually available from some of the Land Rover / off road specialists such as Maddison 4x4 (Thirsk, North Yorks) or Devon4x4, or mail order from some of the Land Rover / off road ...

We are just in the process of putting our truck back together after the re-spray - it is now shiny bright red (like the 90 in my avatar), rather than the matt military dark green it was on its last trip to Oz!

We are bringing one Ibex, one 100" LR Defender and one Rangie and it will be a tight squeeze to get them in the container in about 3 weeks time.

It isn't too easy for us to contact people direct, what with time zones etc, but it is great that so many of you down under are willing to help out.

Sent off Dave's renewal and my application for CCDA membership by snail mail end of December. Not heard anything so far and no money taken from my card account.

I sent an email to Andrew Norman at registrar@ccda.info last week to enquire if they'd got the forms and any progress. Nothing heard so ...

Dave White will also be returning in the 100" Defender for 2008, with myself, his good lady wife, in the navigator's seat this time around.

Neil Redpath and Patrick Smart in the Ibex will also be competing again in 2008. There is likely to be at least one more UK entry in our travelling party, so ...

I know its a bit early and this year's comp hasn't been on yet, but does anyone happen to know the dates for the 2008 OBC ?

Some of us from the UK are coming over in 2008 would like to start making arrangements ASAP and having dates to work to would be good, especially booking time off work, etc !

I'd just like to say THANKS to everyone on the forum for keeping me company during the OBC and keeping me informed when possible ! Being left behind at home thousands of miles away, waiting for the phone calls it was nice to know there were people here in a similar situation !

The UK lads all finished - I don't have their placings as yet but they were thinking that Neil / Patrick might have finished in the top 15 ! Great work guys !

7/8 of the group are still running.

Celia has retired (possible engine bearing failure?). Henry also retired.

Andy Hogg (Ibex) missed a day doing repairs (after damage on a winch wall?) but hopes to rejoin the group ASAP ...

We gathered that Neil redpath broke both propshafts on the prologue, Andy Hogg roled on the first night, and the 100" LRover broke a damper bu t have not got any news since then. We're are having some nice warm weather here in the UK it's reacher 55F ...

Some of the guys competing have very little sponsorship at all. Although Dave has benefitted from some donations of kit, such as winch ropes, spotlights and a few odds and ends of spares, etc all the main expenses have come out of our own bank account. For a UK entrant that's not just entry fee, but ...

Got a couple of calls from Dave W as the UK lads group were passing through Broken Hill on way to the mud run (3 hours ago) Celia in same group I believe.

Apparently the Tues edition of the Barrier Daily Truth has Dave W's Landy on the front page !
