i Bills auto is stuffed , has no drive at all. When I first read that Bill was out due to a prob with the auto I wondered it was a result of letting Wally do the driving again like he did last year in the sand! But then I noticed in the scores that Warren is navvy this year...so I guess it can't be ...

The 2009 entry list is now on the OBC webpages - I found it via the Site Map link at the bottom of the home page, then the link for 2008 Competitors  http://www.outback4x4challenge.com/competitors.php 1. Troy Crimmin - Qld 2. Max Bearlocher - NSW 3. Brett Chenowyth - Vic 4. Jeff Winter - Qld 5 ...

Only competed at the OBC once (Dave twice), but would say that one of the most enjoyable aspects was travelling around in a small group, like Rangie Racing said.... getting to know people, not just on the comp sections, but at camp too, the camaraderie, etc. We did have some friends following our ...

Not received my competitors copy of the DVD yet but got a mail order copy from Devon 4x4 here in the UK which I just quickly skimmed through. Fantastic 4x4 action, some good shots and sounds of our Land Rover. Some good (if slightly embarrassing) shots / interviews with myself and Dave. (They didn't ...

You can usually get the OBC DVD in the UK - Give it a month or so for the distribution to make it over here.. The DVDs are usually available from some of the Land Rover / off road specialists such as Maddison 4x4 (Thirsk, North Yorks) or Devon4x4, or mail order from some of the Land Rover / off road ...

Redpath has been swearing 2008 was his last - but do we believe him ? ;) The chap who owns the Range Rover that Gary 'diff-breaker' Smith competed in had to miss out this year but is considering competing in 2011 and Gary is up for a return visit by all accounts. Pat Smart who navvied for Neil in ...

The pic doesn't show the size very well but it is huge compared to a Suzuki ! It has a 100" wheelbase and as the caption above the pic says that it is an Ibex. Full title a Foers Ibex - http://www.ibexvehicles.com/ Apart from the bodywork it doesn't have much of the original Ibex in it though. As ...

CCDA - Membership and contacts
Sent off Dave's renewal and my application for CCDA membership by snail mail end of December. Not heard anything so far and no money taken from my card account. I sent an email to Andrew Norman at registrar@ccda.info last week to enquire if they'd got the forms and any progress. Nothing heard so far ...

Dave White will also be returning in the 100" Defender for 2008, with myself, his good lady wife, in the navigator's seat this time around. Neil Redpath and Patrick Smart in the Ibex will also be competing again in 2008. There is likely to be at least one more UK entry in our travelling party, so ...

Informally have been told it is the 10th to 17th 2008. Who are the likely contenders? Neil Redpath & Patrick? Simon? Dave White & Paul? JAmes and Andy? Jason Thanks for that Jason Dunno about Simon but the contingent from 'up north' is looking like Neil and Patrick Dave White and Andy Hogg (Andy ...

Although the Parent Directory page http://www.offroadimages.com.au/OE/Events/OBC2005/ originally contained links for all the teams, since the 8th August it has just been up to team number 50. There seemed to be a whole lot of activity between 1st and 8th August when the PD was updated and pics were ...

Update from Dave W in Group B, currently fuelling up at Broken Hill 7/8 of the group are still running. Celia has retired (possible engine bearing failure?). Henry also retired. Andy Hogg (Ibex) missed a day doing repairs (after damage on a winch wall?) but hopes to rejoin the group ASAP. Dave W ...

Great reports guys. Any info on the UK teams. We gathered that Neil redpath broke both propshafts on the prologue, Andy Hogg roled on the first night, and the 100" LRover broke a damper bu t have not got any news since then. We're are having some nice warm weather here in the UK it's reacher 55F ...

Some of the guys competing have very little sponsorship at all. Although Dave has benefitted from some donations of kit, such as winch ropes, spotlights and a few odds and ends of spares, etc all the main expenses have come out of our own bank account. For a UK entrant that's not just entry fee, but ...
