I know engine conversions are fun, as are the finished product, but i would seriously consider the overall cost to outcome ratio on a Duramax swap.

Its easy, just grab the diff's, the mig and make a start, all the information is in those threads, if you really need the step by step, maybe the job is a little much

Last year at the Cliffhanger in Cobar it was rough, dude out heyfield? has it, but coilovers, gen3 stroker Gq rear, GU front, Nissan box and transfer.......it was still fast though

Fact is, for those of us that aren't mechanical gingerbeers, rover axles are crud, metallurgy was not something the poms were good at and the piles upon piles of broken axles and diffs....literally in the hundreds of components I've personally had, mean they suck :armsup:

what fuel are you running it on? my old car used to ping with the cheap 91 octane fuel in, i put the 98 in and it ran great no pinging

That is treating the symptom not the issue. The V8s have not issue on 91 Ron.

Put a V6 commodore motor in a hilux once. Thought I was going to get similar fuel economy to the commodore work ute I had, but it was about double. Absolutely shocking ...

Done heaps of engine conversions on various things, best yet would be an LS1 and auto into a Disco, I just wired it, Andrew at Hiline4wd fitted it, very nice ...

Hilux diffs are the way to go, as you get a stronger rear and decent ratios, can be had in 4.1, 4.3 or 4.55 I believe from bundera's

You can fit locker to rover centres, but you still need axles and diff gears do have a decent set up, only prob with the lux conversion, is you have to do it all at ...

Just had an update come through from Robbie Calvert & Andy Miller.

The Disco has had a major overhaul, now has the ute chopped off and a tray. It has also had a power upgrade with the fitment of Gen3 Motor & Auto.

Appartently they are running close to time and will do the finishing touches on the ...
