Hi All,

Im thinking of fitting a Sub Tank to my truck as mine apparently didn't come with one as its a 3FE Auto.

Question:

Will the tank fit in as normal "like standard fitted vehicles"
Are all wiring points already there just a small plug in job.

Hi all,

Ive just purchased a 80 Series, trading in my GQ Patrol for it.

Its an Auto with 194,0000 K's on it and in very good condition, apparently this truck has seen very limited off road use.

Question

Are there any 3FE trick bits available or any engine mods that will improve the motor at all ...

I just had the same problem with my GQ 4.2 petrol, loosing 2-3 lts of water over a 4 day period, dragged the old girl to the mechanic and it was the water pump, new pump installed and it running like a dream.

Thanks mate. I was thinking about taking it to pirtek tomorrow and getting a new line made up. I imagine they could just cut the rubber section off and attach a braided piece to ensure that it wouldnt happen again.

The car was damn heavy driving back out of the bush and 80 kms home.

Go to Sims Metal Recyclers at St Marys, they have a seperate warehouse on site that sells new metal stock and they are the cheapest in sydney. I work in the metal industry as a self employed fitter/welder and thats where I get my material from.

I ran the new Bridgestone Duellers on my MQ and I reckon they a great tyre very very low road noise and great off road as well, they rated highly (3rd overall I think) in the 4x4 Monthly mag late last year when they did a extensive tyre test.

Find the dry solder joints which crack and loose connection, and resolder them.

mate just resoldered every joint. I just got a $10 watch from the servo and double sided taped it in place.

I asked about the clock not about sticking a bloody watch to the dash, already got one of them on me arm is ...

How hard is it to remove the clock for re-soldering? Is it as simple as removing the facia (undo the screws I guess) and unplugging the wiring, or are there any 'tricks-of-the-trade' to know about?

ea throttle body fits i did it to mine. the mounting holes need elongation only. i would expect the inlet manifolds to be the same on carb/tbi so xf should fit.

i think he may be getting confused with the rotor gap and the spark plug gap performance igniton told me that i should open my spark plug gap up by 0.005 to get best spark and fuel burn they also said openning up the tappets a bit does these motors the world of good
