Re: Oil filter sandwhich adaptor

That Safari cooler looks pretty impressive, but it's probably got an impressive price tag too. I seriously doubt Safari would sell you the adaptor plate on it's own. Just tee into the OEM oil pressure sender for your aftermarket gauge, it worked a treat on my previous multivalve 80...

Re: Tee piece adaptor to suit oil pressure sensor 80#

Mate, just go to your local enzed, pirtek etc. and check out their fittings. When i fitted an aftermarket oil pressure gauge to my 1HD-FT i removed my oil pressure sender (was replacing it anyway) and took it, along with the new gauges sender, down to the nearest pirtek and said i need a tee-piece ...

Anyone recommend a good suspension place on the Sunny Coast?

Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone on here knows of a good suspension place around the sunny coast, between say Caboolture and Noosa? I need to get some leaves taken out of the spring packs and some new shackles fitted on my BJ40. No not blue shackles either. ;) I don't really have the space to work ...

Re: 100 series 4.5 petrol fuel use

They are pretty thirsty, but are a tough reliable engine. You have to remember it's moving almost 3 tonnes of cruiser around....but it does a great job of that. When my old 80 was loaded up and we were pushing it hard in the sand i reckon i could see the fuel needle drop. It's a big six though, with ...

Yep, another vote for late model TD 80 series Sahara. There not up for sale too often though. Sahara 80 with a manual box and to top it off a 1HD FTE. Wouldn't look at the multi valve 80, heard they're pricks of things but i'm sure thats just comes down to personal opinions. What have you heard ...

I'm not entirely convinced with the electronic rust proofing systems. I've heard good things about the protective coatings you can have applied underneath though. Protecting inside the chassis rails and places you cannot see is different again and an ERPS might help there. I think about it this way ...

I think you need to realise there is a lot more cooling on the water than there is on land. You will not be able to kep these motors cool in a 4wd True that. Theres an infinite supply of cold water where these things run. I'm guessing that would run quite high boost pressure too. A closed loop ...

I'm quite sure it is 5.8 litres with the filter mate. If in doubt i usually check the various Netlube sites the oil companies run. Just google "castrol netlube" or caltex netlube" etc. They list their recomended oils and also capacities, which is very helpfull.

BJ40 Full-floater axle stud question...

Hi guys, I've just finished overhauling the rear axle on my BJ40. I took the centre out and had it fully reconditioned by Difflapping & Repairs in Kedron here in Brisbane. Google it westy, there is hours worth of reading. Short story - it's great to eliminate drive-line clunking, especially in pre-95 80's, and also lets you put an auto locker in the front diff. Don't fit it and expect an increase in fuel economy though. You can buy the kit for $500-$550 and fit it in ...

My 1HD-FT gauge use to sit just above 1/3 at cold idle and then once it was hot it would just read above the first line. Gauge was dodgy in my opinion, and a lot of people will tell you the same.
