Rang natrad today. They have been bought out by another company and don't deal direct with the public anymore, apparently. Someone must still be suppling the army though. Lunds in Cairns have turned up a standard, not heavy duty radiator for $363 + postage. May go with that for the time being. RE ...

yeh, thanks guys, the trans cooler is running through the radiator as well as through a remote cooler and it still gets to 110 degrees by the oil temp gauge using all hydralic fittings. Shall give natrad a call on Monday. Our local rad man has suggested that we have an underlying problem of ...

stage1 radiator

:?: Does anyone know where i can get a new heavy duty radiator for my 3.9 isuzu powered stage1? Unfortunately the tanks are past it, and a recore is not an option. British Offroad have quoted me $900 !!! I don't know that a standard radiator would handle the auto with trans cooler towing a 1.2 ton ...

Thanks guys, your info is great! So, if I can find someone to machine me an adaptor plate, How'd you's reckon a 2.7 D Nissan would go. I cough...cough....owned one for about 3years in a Navara twin cab 4wd. it was no great powerhouse, but proved very reliable. We always put the lack of power down to ...

Yeh, 200tdi is certainly my favoured option, but I can see problems with Dept. of Transport 'cause of the turbo in vechile with only drum brakes. I do have that article in a back issue of LRO, titled 'sheep in wolf's clothing' or something like that. Just today I got LRe and there is a workshop Q@A ...

series diesel conversion

I am looking for a diesel conversion for a swb ute. There are a couple of 2.25 about, but I have heard them being described in the same sentence as rice pudding. Good fuel economy would be an issue as would the cost of the conversion [already own 4 registered landies]. So, what motor ,roughly how ...

I know it's old and leaf sprung, but our series3 stage 1 with 4bd1 has a Ford auto ,C4/C???, and the original transfer case.
BRILLIANT Conversion! We were gonna do away with it, until we drove it . Haven't had the said vehicle in low range yet. Gotta love that!

Yeh, thanks Ben. I will give Southside Springs in Gympie a call. They have always been the be all to end all on the Sunshine Coast, and I know they are not abject to workin' on old Landrovers unlike most of the new trendy joints in Maroochydore. It's Friday night and the beers are tastin' good ...

Hi, thanks BEN, FWD have quoted me $600 odd for a new set of 2 leaf fronts. Was hoping they could supply 3leafs,but no. I guess it's the weight of the 4bd1 that's done it. If I was to get them re-tempered, how long could I expect them to last? The vehicle they are fitted on rarely sees any 4wding ...

Is there another brand of parabolics available in this country, other than Rocky Mountain?
After only being fitted for 12 months or so,the fronts have sagged considerably. The 4 leaf rears are still as new.

thanks guys, both discos are 93 models and both are manuals. I guess it would have been better for the v8 to have been an auto. But having said that the rusty 200tdi comes as a complete car. Should we swap both the motor and the gearbox? :?: Trouble is of course, that old mate has just had the ...

yeh, I thought weight would be a worry. The trans is manual and yep I didn't think it would handle it. I was asking on behalf of a friend. There is a cheapish 4bd1 for sale around here. $2500 I believe. Anyways, the aforesaid friend went and bought a 200tdi disco on the weekend. It's kinda rusty but ...

4bd1 into Disco

Has anybody put a 4bd1 into their Disco? I know plenty have done so to their Rangies.
What are the pitfalls?
Advice will be much appreciated.

thanks
