It should be a easy swap. I had a FSJ Cherokee I did the same thing to. All the body mounts should be in the same place & like most all the body bolts should come out ok. When are you going to start doing this project? Should be a weekend of work if you have help lifting the cab's off.

Oh, I am sitting at about 11-12"s of lift at this point & don't want to go higher. The XJ also sports a 8274 winch. The best IMO. :armsup:

I have one I built on the rear of my XJ. The bumper was set back with just enough space to let a swing out be added. That is a 38/12.5/15 tire on the rear & I have only touched the earth with it once. :armsup:

I have done a few of these kits & like the way it saves on shaft room & gives you a better angle to work with. Take your time & make sure you purge all the air out of the head. You must have a air pocket & trust me have had the sme prob your having now when I did my motor swap. Darn thing would boil up FAST! Get the air out & have it back on the road.

What rear axle are you running? I am building another TJ now that has the R.E. long arm kit with the new 7" coils. We will be adding a front High Pinion Dana 44 soon & a rear Ford 9". 5.15's & a Detroit in the rear to start with. The tire we will end up with on the jeep will be 39.5" swampers.

FJ40 RD08 ARB Q's

Im doing 2 diffs for a 40 & THE RD08 has a collar that is different that the Toyota 8" style ARB. I seem to have no room for the retaining clip when all is done. Do you just leave it out? Any of you done this befor? Thanks from Anchorage,Alaska. :cool:

Here in Alaska a CJ with a good body (clean) stock you will pay $2,500-$3,000. A good tub and frame are well worth the money when dealing with a CJ. First year for the CJ-7 was 1976 I think and they made those till 1986. If you go with a CJ-5 try to get one from 1976-1979. Good years! Mine is a 78 ...
