80 1hdt auto probs

I'm having trouble with my 80 series auto box with the torque converter locking/unlocking rapidly. What i think is causing it is the tacho or its pickup/sender, because the tacho needle dances around 200-300 rpm when u hold the revs steady and the other day i was cruising along the highway at about ...

80 to 100 rear axle stud mod

Going to replace my 80 series rear axle studs to 100 series jobbies. I will be doing the mod myself. I have two options with the collets: 1. Use the original collets and drill them out to 10mm therefore the tapers in the axle flange need not be machined to suit the bigger hunjy collets. 2. Use the ...

Im running 15's on '96 running gear but the centers are reversed and
offset an extra 30mm. did em at work on the lathe. I originally done em for my 75 ute to stop em scrubbing on the chassis at the rear but i was
stoked to find they fit the 80.

It could be your pump, mine is on its way out, you can tell because the steering can sometimes be non existant at idle sometimes but it becomes better the more the motor is revved. If your pump has ever been starved of fluid or had air in the system than it may be rooted.

toyota upgraded the brakes in august 1992 when the 80 first got the 1fzfe in em to replace the 3f. more go = more stopping power needed.
I got 15 x 8 roh rims on 96 running gear but the centres are flipped and offset 30mm. they stick out past the flares but give good slope stability.
