hello i setting up a gq lwb ( cut to EX-CAB ute ) for the winching comp seen. i have a V8 out a holden 96 vs with soon to be installed GU front and rear diffs ( with 4/1's ). but i really dont know what diff gears i should run with. i have been told from a mate run with 4/3's and the same with 4/625. if some out there can help me out with would be great. with the pros and con's would be great aswell

thats close enough
4.6 for 35s brings it back to standard.
i went 4.88 so im a little slower than standard

Stick with genuine gears, if you have the power run 4.3 with 36' however if your motor isnt has powerful run the 4.6 and that wont be an issue i wouldnt go the 4.8 as they arent as strong.
Another option is if you have the power to turn them in high range for low range winch work just leave the 4.1 and put marks 43% gears in the transfer case as most comp guys do that provided you have the power.. as they drive stages in high range and go to low range for the winching...
