Looks like cadmium plating, and aren't those joints illegal? Looks good quality though.

I'm not sure why the red-tape makers call them illegal, but I think the reason may have something to do with the fact that there is no means for the joint to absorb shock. ie, no bush like substance in there. So they transmit shock to other components casusing cracks etc. Plus these joints can flog out themselves. But then again, the stock rangie ball joint doesn't have a rubber bush either, but is sealed. :armsup:

Funny though, its lifted a little, but won't correct the ugly angle that happens on lifted rovers, i'm still undecided as to how i'll approach mine to correct it, if i knew this would help a heap, i'd pay the dough, i know they have more rotation available, but at that price, don't think i'll take the gamble

These rod end arn't designed to carry load in that axis, it won't fail but it will flog out.

QT stuff use to be well made but have herd that this has dropped away recently.

doesn't matter how legal stuff is............. until you have a crash and some one gets fucked up and your insurer decides to look over your vehicle to get out of paying, finds out some small thing doesn't comply and you end up paying for it the rest of your life.

max tyre size in qld is 10mm greater rolling circumference than stock tyres.
so biggest stock on a def 110 is 235/85 r 16 and a 10mm increase in rolling size still limits you to a 235/85 r 16

just because we are not getting pulled over and defected does not mean all is ok, just cops don't know all the rules and have other shit to do.

I doubt it would fail. Heim joints are used in race cars, aeroplanes and extensively in agricultural use. Tractors use them a lot in 3PLs and they are very very strong. Wear would be an issue, but should be reduced by adequate lubrication.

Good quality ones have a synthetic teflony liner on the bearing surface of the socket, but I reckon after a year or so in this application it would flog out. Pretty easy and cheap to just replace the rod end though.

I contacted rovertym in the US and the cost of their A arm extension is A$194.00 plus freight of about A$112 postage!

Still pricy. What about build one yourself?

I like this idea because you can tailor the length to rotate the pinion up and counter UJ bind up.

Rovertym are great. Pity we can't get away with teh stuff they do in the US of A.

Tempting to build one myself.... I don't have too much time on my hands at the moment as I have enough to do on my truck to get it ready for a trip in May

might just end up buying the Rovertym myself.
