GQ Diff Centers

Post by Nor »

Hey guys,

I recently laid my hands on 4.6 diffs, front and rear, for my 94" LWB GQ.

The problem is, the diffs on my truck have 10 bolts on the outer shell, and the ones I found have 9 bolts.

Can I swap the R&P, i.e. keep my shells and replace the R&Ps with the new ones??

I have LSD in the back, will it still run with the new diff centers???

(P.S.: the diffs I have now are 3.9s)

From the specs I have, the LSD from the 2.8 is a much tougher unit (I mean requires more torque to make it release)

Could it just be early and later model?

Or Engine config maybe, 2.8 V 4.2 etc?

H233, being an axle designation, should all be the same though...
I am thinking that maybe there is a completely different axle in europe, or a different assembly line - windsor/cleveland sort of thing..

Must be some differences as the GU H233 front has 11 bolts. There not H260s as the one I have counted is 12 bolts. Someone in Oz go count ya GQ bolt patterns anyone with a Petrol LWB should have H233 fr and rear.

My own research into this shows 11 bolts that bolt the rear centre to the rear housing, H233, 88-92 Australian GQ.

Anybody else?

This is exactly what I was trying to get at in the first place I assumed that the bolt pattern my front would be the same as a GQ but could not confirm. Now that it is confirmed how do you get 10 bolt and he has 9 bolt fitted.

What were the ?200 which I believe is navara and some MQ's and also was G60 I think.

Is it just me because I actually would like to know what is the answer to this question because I am an inquisitive bastard.

All you need to do is pull the crown and pinion off the 4.6 diff centres and they will bolt onto 4.11 diff centres if thats what you have in it currently
Cheers
