rebuilding gearbox

Post by joeyree »

We have to replace bearing in 1982 suzuki sierra gearbox as it gets stuck in 4th gear. does anyone know where we can get rebuild instructions on the internet. Hubby is going to have a go while we're on holidays. Has anyone done it before, is it hard. Thanks

i just rebuilt mine with the help of my mate. its not overly hard but if he hasnt done it before i dare say he should ask for help before rather than later.. easier and cheaper that way.
the input shaft bearing will probably be the most worn, and since you are cracking the box to get at any of the bearings you may as well put a kit through it and look at putting in a new shifter bush and shifter locator bolt.. these are cheap and tend to wear over time.
oh and good luck! :D
