I'm running 32" Bighorns and am very happy with them so far, they've done almost as many KM's offroad as on so far and they grip well in everything I've thrown at them although haven't really hit mud much yet.

Cheers

u guys who are running bighorns.... sorry for the hijack but i eyeballed one mounted on a rim at a tyre shop the other day and thought that the tread footprint looked noticably smaller than an equivalent sized tyre in a different brand..( silverstone from memory)... is this the case?

i was lookin at a 285 75 16...

tyre guy said it was because it was a 6 inch rim and he would be right to an extent but still looked thin on the tread to me... measured it with my hand and i' reckon it was about an inch narrower on the contact part of the tyre...maybe half to three quarter of an inch really...

any thoughts?

My 32's were $215 fitted and balanced if that helps, if I'd chased around some more I probablycould have gone them a little cheaper but this was local.

I also found the bighorns to b very close to the stated size. A 32" is 31.9" etc.

Here's a pic of the 32x11.5 next to the 31x10.5 Nankang Mudstar that came off. Both are on rims here, the 31" on 15x7 and the 32" on 15x8

I dont reckon they look any better than a BFG/MTR ??

The new Kumho MT looks good in the pattern, almost Xterrian style, but sidewall could be dodge.

A 285 75 16 should be mounted on an 8 inch wheel. Whoever put that
wheel and tyre together is'nt a tyre fitters A-hole. When measured on the
correct wheel the Maxxis product is very happy. The style of tread does
make these tyres "look" thin, I do agree.

bloke did explain that the tyre was mounted like this as a customer request to fit a new hilux... not something i would do but anyway...anyhoo as i have been shopping around i have found some competitive prices on mickey t mtx's and they look better...perform? will find out i guess... $315 a tyre for 285/75/16...
