MK - twin shock up front

Post by ma7rk »

Been looking at getting some new suspension for the old girl and i was poking around under neath today a i noticed that next to the existing shock there is mounting points for a second shock. Dont know if this is standard or not? Does any one no what it is for? Is it for running 2 shockies on each side? What is the benefit (if any) of running dual shocks?

Cheers

almost certainly the swaybar mount, after dissconecting mine it just looks like another shock mount (i thort i could add another shock to it about a week after, then it took me nearly 20 mins to realise it was from the swaybar  )

twin shocks not realy necessary on a leaf sprung car anyways, due to the built in self dampening of leaves over coils

like they said, its a swaybar mount, but it wouldnt be too hard to bolt one in. You could even use a pin-eye converter like this

mounted sideways to get the shock away from the tower so it wont foul it and then user a rear landcruiser shock because there an eye to pin shock.

just do it
