Hilux Front Driveshaft

Post by Simo »

Hey Guys,

Anyone got any idea how much it should cost me to get a long travel slip yolk put into my front driveshaft? Any places around Sydney that I can get it done?

I got a quote from a place in Arndell Park, they reckon about $580.

I've put rear springs into the front of an 85 4runner but need to fix up my driveshaft, Thought the quote I got sounds steep but have no idea really.

tail shaft slip yoke

Post by rusty_burrows »

mate i used the rear tailshaft out of a dual cab (the 2 piece shaft) and re drilled the flange on the transfer case and cut some of the slip yoke about 11/2" off the ends of the slip yoke and that has done the trick and i also put the rear springs out of a 4 runner and i dont have any troubles even at full travel and i also modified the springs to give me more travel

Make it yourself, Its only for slow speed work, but will allow for lots of slip. Basically its 2 bits of SHS that slip one inside the other. Search there is a bit of info on them, and a few how toos.
