Direct Drive Clutch

Post by Not For Highway Use »

Attempting to drive a PTO winch from a toothed drive belt off a modified crank pully. Looking for some sort of clutch set up that can be engaged at 700rpm.

A. Aircompressor electric clutch would be ideal. Not strong enough.
B. Clutch assmebly out of a motorbike. I think this would wear as it is disengaged 95% of the time.
C. Dog clutch. Bang.

Any ideas

what about about the old pull the tensior tight pull system so when disengaged the belt slips and then when the pull is pulled tight the drive engages works on tractors and ride mowers, i reckon an a/c clutch would hold on , or run a bypass on the pto winch
