not exaclty. all solid front axle hulix and all cruisers 1977 - 1989 are the same. early 4x series are smaller and have a coarse outer spline. 7x series from 1990 on have a slightly larger CV.

there are at least 3 types pf 80 series CV's, to cater for early and later models/part time/full time 4WD and ABS. there is a change in 1992 for full timers from short to long outer shaft. ABC CV's have the pole ring on the bell, you can use non ABS CV's in a ABS truck but the ABS won't work obviously.

There are allso different length stub axles in the cruiser depending on what brand free wheeling hub was fitted from factory.

true. the vast majority of second handies out there will be 1982+ with the Aisin hubs.

cool, thanks

while on the subject of CVs, can any one post pics of where and how to weld rings onto the CVs please.

ie where on the cv is optimum, what size / thikness ring etc, solid weld or stitched?

also when welded does the whole cv need to be treated to ensure an even strength over the cv as presumable where welded the heat will cause that are to soften

cheers
