I have searched and cant find the thread with all the info on what CVs fit what between cruiser / lux models, size and spline differences etc
if you can possibly find that thread and post here I would be most gratefull

not exaclty. all solid front axle hulix and all cruisers 1977 - 1989 are the same. early 4x series are smaller and have a coarse outer spline. 7x series from 1990 on have a slightly larger CV.STUMPY wrote:

while on the subject of CVs, can any one post pics of where and how to weld rings onto the CVs please.
ie where on the cv is optimum, what size / thikness ring etc, solid weld or stitched?
also when welded does the whole cv need to be treated to ensure an even strength over the cv as presumable where welded the heat will cause that are to soften
