I recon I can do it in 20 minutes, 4 steer box bolts in chassis 1 tie rod 1 bolt in collar for flex joint 2 banjo bolts for fluid, fill the fluid res n go for a drive

take longer than 20 mins to order the 2 new drag links you will need! gu and gq have different taper on the TRE's

no you can't just use a gu drag link - well you can if you are happy for the gq end to bolt up so hard there is no movement whatsoever in the joint. gq has a bigger taper, gu is smaller. gq has a bigger thread on the tre if you are making one too. you need a gq to gu drag x2

Question.

I have a Snake Racing Steering arm with replaceable ends. if i get a GU steer box could i just replace the end for the GU pump with a GU end for a Snake racing arm?

no you cannot as I said above they are different threads I think form memory gq is 22mm and gu is 20mm

i bolted the GQ tie rod into a GU box, it seemed to fit OK, its been on for 12 months and there doesent appear to any movement or wear there. however when i spoke to Snake racing 12 months ago they said they were getting some GU tie rod ends made up with the same size thread as the GQ rod ends. it might be worth giving them a call to see if these are available yet.

bru21 are you talkin about the thread on the taper ot the male threaded TRE"s I use female threaded tie rods n they are interchangable on the gq to gu sit in the same position from knuckle to TRE ball joint n taper apears to be the same never had 1 come loose n what I can measure with the vernier is right
