Brake upgrade
Has anyone done a brake upgrade on a defender 110 eg aftermarket calipers slotted rotors? mine dosent seem to stop as well as it used to maybe the v8 and 36tyres has something to do with it plus I would like to get them upgraded before the blower goes on
defender 110,4.6,auto,36simex,maxidrive everything. "JEEP" your right, I dont understand????
you do have 110 calipers and not rangie calipers?? (110 bigger, if they're solid discs, spacers can be used for vented option.)
like they said about vented, slows down fade, good for towing.
braided ss lines give better pedal feel and more direct brake pressure.
toorak tractor (VIC) have had 2 rover front ends with porsche rotors and larger calipers that fitted easily.
anthony johnson @ british 4wd (VIC) can do some sort of booster/master cyl. swap (disco s1??) that can help apparently.
hydroboost?? (very american ) look on pirate.
you can only fit so much inside a 15/16 inch wheel.

It all depends on the year. Some 110's have the smaller pistons, some have larger.modman wrote:you do have 110 calipers and not rangie calipers?? (110 bigger, if they're solid discs, spacers can be used for vented option.)
The calipers are available for both vented and solid rotors (as you know the difference is a fitted spacer).

Cheers mark was being a smart arse thanks for the info guys I remeber reading somewhere someone had used jag calipers ? the front axle is out of a vogue air susp rangie and I think the brakes are as well I'm not sure if the guys swaped them around they are vented but some days when I'm stop at set of traffic lights it looks like my car is on fire underneath there is a bit of smoke coming from them
