EFI fast idle

:? Have GU 4500 efi petrol that idles back to its idle setting very slowly, its causing me to stuff up very slow movments in low over rocks & the like. Starting to realy shit me. Have checked cables etc all move freely. Thanks in advance. :? :bad-words:

Mate of mines is exactly the same... shaitting him to tears too.

Could it be a vacuum leak of some form?

If everything external to computer OK then its in the programme to reduce emms on trailing throttle.

Safari chip will fix.

Thanks but it has a uni chip & have checked for vaccume leaks also sprayed liberal amounts of carby cleaner in butterfly housing while reving but no change. Something else i have noticed is cold fast idle is taking longer to fall to 700 wich is warm idle setting. SNAFU :cool:

does it have the air bypass on the throttle body ?? be carful spraying carbon cleaner in these as it can stuff the air bypass .

It will have a Idle by-pass (IAC valve) Be careful spraying carb clean in these cause it can stuff them. Some throttle bodys have a coating that dosn't like carb clean also.

the one with the match box on it is the idle air control (iac) which would be the first one to look at, don't know obout the other one. :D :D :D

how did it go after you cleaned the idle air control and the throttle body, hunting idle usally means one of them is dirty.
