hilux offset rims ok to go onto gq?

Post by joelt »

i have a set of 15" rims with 31"s that i use on an IFS hilux and was wondering if they would be suitable for a gq? when i bought them, the dudes in the shop said they had to be a particular offset, what exactly, i don't know....does anyone know if they'd be suitable to go onto a gq? and how they are offset differently to other wheels?

Should be. IIRC, I think you'll find the Lux rims are bigger offset, but with 31's guards should still cover your tyres fine.

I wouldn't be putting them on a GQ. The IFS Hilux generally run a P7 and GQ are N9. It will undertrack the vehicle and possibly foul on the tie rods.

True. Most of the 6/139.7 Sunnys out there have a 110mm Centre Bore. Only fairly old sunnys don't.
Alloys can be a different story. They're all different. American rims definitely need machining before they will fit but most others in the right fitment for GQ (offsets) already have the CB to suit. Once again old rims may be a different story.
