40 series and 70 series diffs the same?

Post by cruiserkid »

I have a mate who has just blown the diff in his 45 series cruiser.
I have s spare diff out of a BJ70 sitting here.
Will the centre out of the 70 series fit in the 45 series?.
Are the axles the same?.
Or would it be easier to put the whole diff in?.

The BJ70 has got the Landcruiser diffs.
It was the petrol model Bunderas that had the hilux diffs.
Mine is not a Bundera.

I have a bj73 and yes a 7x series (earlyer 7x series, not the smaller front or bundy) diff will fit into the 45. You most likly will find differances in bearing size and spline on the pinion/flange but if your replacing the whole center it should all bolt up.
