Ahhh, looks like we are going to be playing in the mud hey Hobzee. Can't wait, 4B still drying out from OBC. Those bumps in the creek look like they are going to slow down our 130k/h top speed from last year up the creek. Oh well we could be spending some time in the air then. See you all Sunday night, can't wait. Hope the beers are cold.

got a phone call from Greg Smith today with some updates

* there are approx 15 cars racing
* there has been a couple of winch failures , possible broken motors
* couple of diesel vehicles have cooked their motors on the creek runs i think and many overheating problems

as for Greg Smith & Justin Worden

* SS1, he broke a cv at the start line and drove the hole stage with the broken cv within the DNF time of 45 minutes, i think he completed it in 25 mins, bit of a mess inside the hub.
* blew part of the intercooler piping off on SS1 and fixed it on the stage
* think he said he got 4th on SS1
* his car has been overheating slightly but is ok.

been told Hobzee is going to email me pictures so as soon as i get them, i will post them up on here.

thats all for now, hopefully get another call tonight or tomorrow

just got this email from Hobzee,

Update - perfect weather - T Shirts

Stage 1 won by Little Mule Racing - KJs and Ruffy - Smithi came 4th with
broken CV and a winch (not all winched)

Stage 2 all winched. Not aware of times.

Stage 3 all winched - most impressive and fastest was WA team Bad Influence
(Adrian Parker and Alan McGilvray)

Stage 4 tonight in the quicksand...

Most unfortunate - SHH Racing (Barry Smethurst and Jim Hayes in Reg GQ Turbo
Dsl Ute) and Sooty Racing (Mick Magher and Trevor Dean in GU Turbo Dsl
F.A.T. ute) both blew up motors in the deep sand of stage 1. Neither had
made it to the water. Team ET (Kyle Yates and MTR in GQ Dsl Wgn) did a pwr
steer hose and had a fire but all ok. Still placed second in Stage 1
regardless.

Regards and thanks

Spoke to the boy himself they are just heading out for a winch wall night stage
The 3ss today were hard going with some cars seizing motors from over heating.
Greg thinks that they have placed 4th on ss1, 4th on ss2 and 1st on ss3 (mud run of course) today.

All up there has been about 5 to 7 cars pulled out of the event leaving only 7 to 8 cars running.
Some cars are being worked on as we speak hoping to get going again.[/url]

I spoke to Greg last night about 7pm and he said that they drove all day until about 6pm.
They didn't even stop for lunch.
So all were VERY tired, and they were about to head out on the night stage.
I will update when I hear more.

Just spoke to Greg and they don't know the rankings as yet.
Last night there was two night stages, 1 stage was cancelled as the first car took two hours to recover from the first bog hole.
The seconed stage only two cars did not DNF, it was a navergation stage.

I just heard that the top 4 placings faced a 4.5m winch wall, the top 2 placing had a DNF on the winch wall
The day was made for high powered rigs it was a pure high speed day.
The results are not in YET.
