not the right thing to do but if you could get a body..

why not get a swb gq and matching vin plate then just swap the body onto the chassis and the vin plate onto the body?

yes it is a totally different body but the dot are so dumb they would have no idea.. all they care about is matching vin/ body numbers..

Yep that sounds like it. It was for sale on here a couple of years ago. Last I heard it was owned by GQMAD I think it is. It had a tweaked TD42. Then it got the turbo/intercooled TB42 out of Ontracks 'Shreq'. But I read somewhere that it was getting another diesel.

If the 4wd's have to be ten years old before you can import them into Australia we have 6 months to wait that is if the SWB came out the same time as the LWB.

fkk off..

so you ARE saying that if we could find a stash of 97 GU shorty's that we could import them, get them all approved & regoed ?

Given they may be hard to find... but surely it's achievable..

Best bet would be one with a r.s motor that could be swapped out for a TD42 with a big snail on the side of it imo.

...boy do they look sexy

according to redbook - first were Dec 97 models.

I dont think there would be that much call for them, but I still dont see it being that easy.. dont you think Safari grey importers would be on to this by now if it was?
