4.875 diffs, 34" tires, stock tcase just wouldnt cut it. instead of buying el expensivo crawler gears i decided to to an el cheapo dual tcase fabbing...
after week of being lazy, i finally got it under the junk....
the crossmember and the additional tcase support
and got new slip yokes to fit...
april 21, 2007, finally got it out again to do some poser shots....
ran to the nearest muffler shop so i could hit the nearest hole before it gets dark...
...got the muffler done, and off to the hole...
and raced it the next day
and finished 16th out of the grid of 26, nor bad for a shakedown against huge land cruiser
after a bit of thinking on how to get rid of the tire rub, i decided to do another SAS on the junk. using nissan patrol mk diffs. the junk os now currently under the knife to get ready for the 2nd swap
Both builds are very impressive in both the fab work & detail as well as the rate of speed you're doing it all in.
The tooling and precision for a 'back yard project' is admirable!
Definatley following both zook and buggy builds for some inspiration...
Wish I could fab/build even half as good as that
