UPH11R.......It's back

Post by SAWZALL »

Nothing like moving house to get you motivated enough to get your truck back on the road. Was gonna be too much of a drama to engineer with SPOA and 35's so I mounted the diffs back above the springs and got some second hand 31's.

Doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. Had to get it back on the road for some summer trips.

Anyone know where I can source one of those covers that just covers the tray area like a torneau cover?????

Look forward to taking it out on some mild trips.

Yeah I had a white hardtop with 33 swampers, Calmini 4 to 1 transfer, raised flares etc but I've had this one for about 6 years

Can anyone help out with

* flare extensions
* factory roll bar
* front locker
* rear locker
* transfer gears
* summer practice :D

I'm moving up Maitland way so there should be heaps of 4 wheelin over summer........can't wait!!!! :cool:

It's gonna be easier to get registered spring under. It only takes 2 hours to swap it spoa>spua or vica versa.

Oh and the people are after pics, sam :finger:

Todays update:
refitted the targa bar, doors, tailgate, springs, diffs, changed steering back to standard, refitted dash and attempted to start it......anyone got a carby to suit a 94 Sierra????

Fuel p1ssed out of every join :cry: I pulled it apart and all the seals, plungers and gaskets are rooted. Sitting around for 4 years can do that

Parts needed:
rubber flare extenders
carby :cry:
driveshaft bolts........I've obviously put them somewhere so I don't lose them :?
4 U bolts for front springs

Things to do tomorrow:
Make a tube front bumper
redo brakes
Chase up above listed parts

The reason I'm not staying SPOA (for those interested) is that the car may have to do some mileage over summer (between Maitland and Sydney). Car is a LOT more stable (esp over Mooney Mooney) SPUA.

WAHOOO, IT DRIVES......

Todays update:
Fitted another carby (BIG THANX TO SAM AT OVERKILL)
Fitted new U bolts (BIG THANX TO SAM AT OVERKILL)
bled brakes
fitted tailshaft
Jigged up front bar

I think the carby might need overhauling but I'll run some new (ie not 4 year old) fuel thru it and see how it goes.

Plans for tomorrow:
Flare extensions
Finish front bar
Plan Mods :cool:

Todays progress:

Fitted flare extensions
refitted standard seats
took front bar to be welded
bent up rollbar
made a battery bracket

took it out of the garage and drove it up on some car ramps set up diagnally with 2 inch blocks of wood under them. Still all 4 firm on ground, not too bad for a SPUA

Rear locker, low transfer box and plenty of practice to come

BIG thanx to Sam at Overkill for all his help :cool:

Todays update:
Did some more work on the roll bar
Spent about 4 hours staring at the car planning what to mod
Car has G*P springs in the front and is a rough as guts. Thinking OME rears up front.....

Everyone is keeping an eye out for lockers and low transfer gears, aren't they??????
