that cerramic thing is a ballast resistor, used to lower the voltage to the coil in a points ignition spark system

It's all significantly different.

Best to swap the whole loom (and regulated 1.3 alternator) but note that the instruments are different- the 1.0 uses a round plug and the 1.3 uses two flat plugs.

if im sticking my 1.3 into my 1.0 then do you think it would be easier to replace the whole loom from the 1.3 or keep it 1.0 and re-wire a few parts that are nescesary

If you can get a 1.3 loom then fit it. If you have to use a 1.0 loom it will need considerable love.

Are 1.3 NT and 1.3 WT looms the same??? What about coily?

My car has completely killed itself at the moment (ignition fuse blowing) and I've got it apart trying to find the short causing it. If I need a new loom, just like to know which looms are viable.

Also how much you paying for these looms? If you dont mind me asking.

If any one happens to know common causes (eg: normal shorting places) for blowing ignition fuses, feel free to help me; get me out of the bloody lancer, and back into the Sierra.

WT and NT looms are (slightly) different.

You might get away with a swap, but amongst other things the WT has the little emissions black box under the glovebox and the NT doesn't. Some of the idle ups are a bit different too.
