could you kindly point out where the coil is attached at the top? if he is allowed to have the top of his coil drop away then why arent we allowed to unbolt the top of our shocks? its only fair isnt it?

i included your own picture so you could show us :D

Since when has it been uncommon for people to run coils this way? In fact its really uncommon for people to attach coils top and bottom. Have a look around next time your out with a heap of modified full bodied rigs.

Personally i prefer coils tied in top and bottom but the only thing this rig really needs is a set of guides fitted to get the coild back in position.

You guys really need to stop comming up with all this crap and just face the fact you were beaten. He obviously didnt break any rules or Dave wouldnt have awarded him first place.

ok ok, ill point it out after you show me your coils and where they are attached, or even better show me the retainers on a standard patrol. or toyota... show me that and ill be glad to show you where they are retained  it is still only running a 15 inch rear shock. how is coils not being attached is different to you running air shocks. all the coils do is hold his car at that height. the front can run without springs. and the front isnt reatined either, just has big bump stops and the shocks are vertical so it doesnt go as far.

i purely wanted to see what he would say in reply as i have often wondered what other peoples thoughts are on this kind of thing. I was in the homeless i knew i was beat before i went to sleep the day before

Sam's Defender 90 only has off the shelf springs and shocks and doesn't have the advantage of custom links and full hydro steer  Not sure where your arguement of 16 and 18" shocks comes in

Not going to Eastern Creek - some of us work for a living. But I will gladly take you and the homeless on :D ...just as soon as I build a buggy

Rock Hammer buggy was sold, Damo...to make room for things that make money rather than cost it. ;)

What the hell :!: :!: :!:
My point was next ramp day ill have somethn on the buggy that will allow the FOX SHOCK to drop away from its mount. If Dave doesnt like it then hay itll be locked down. So how the fark did this turn into a shit fight about bloody flinns coils droping away :?:

Oh thats right chunderlicious got his back up thinking i was having a go at him or flinn.
I wasnt and if ya read what i posted correctly it does say that the buggys are not ramp queens they are rockcrawlers (or at least try to be lol)
My thought is if i can come up with something on the buggy that will only need 1 single bracket on each corner to allow the shock to drop away then hay why not as i am shore it would be able to be applied to flinns aswell. Then we might get more intrest for the ramp days as we get higher and higher on the ramp. As i am shore everyone who has attended either days agrees they are a really good morning out and hopefully the event will stay around.
Plus why not try come up with somethn so we can take flinns crown  Thats competition isnt it

Nottie, Don't worry about chunderdick. Flynn is always apoligising for his outbursts regarding his 4wd. Not the first time it's happened. ;) ;) ;)

Flynn doesn't take offense to comments, he knows the difference from the internet and the real world something chunderdick doesn't. ;)

sorry havent had a chance to be on in a while...

so umm yeah the only thing that bothers me is that u spell my last name with a y not a i...Flynn....so many ppl do it so annoying... :)

the coils...well we were always going to be retained at the top by using tube that can slide so that it places back itno place all the time....im sure theres a technical name for it...but yeah we got side tracked and now its been bumped down the list a little.....

people just need to chill a little i think....if u wanna remove ur fox shocks and dave is happy with it...do it....just yeah be quick with the bolt when u come back down....

Sorry FLINN :finger:
Yeah the idea i have is a bit like what gonads had on his old zook.
The shock will be bolted to a piece of tube thats say ya long and then runs along the diff to another mount where its fixed. Dont know if it will work but it might save someone jumping in there to replace a bolt. I think thats the only problem you may have to sort out Flynn is haveing someone reseating the spring when you come down of the ramp as it looks like a shit of a job and would be easier to just drive straight off.
Oh chunderlicious all requests in writing to my MSN adress please which is at the bottom of my posts. Please be brief as i dont care for dribble :finger:
