yeh thanks, i was thinking that powder coating is alot more flexable and durable than paint thats why i was wondering.
I would have thought someone would have done it or thought about it.
Cheers

powder coating is alot less flexible AFAIK, but certainly alot more resistant to chipping.brad 93hilux wrote:yeh thanks, i was thinking that powder coating is alot more flexable and durable than paint thats why i was wondering.

Just harder to touch up the chipps when they occur.
It depends on how it is applied. It can be hard and brittle or it can be applied so the finish is more flexible than any paint AFAIK. I've seen powder coating that looked and felt like a plastic/rubber coating. I would think getting it sandblasted and finished would cost too much to worry about doing it to old springs. I would spend my money on a new set or just give them a quick cheap paint.Shadow wrote:powder coating is alot less flexible AFAIK, but certainly alot more resistant to chipping.brad 93hilux wrote:yeh thanks, i was thinking that powder coating is alot more flexable and durable than paint thats why i was wondering.

What's the difference between ignorance and apathy? I don't know and I don't care.

im a firm believer that they should be painted in mud. if its not to the top of the coil find a bigger bog pit

I have had coils powder coated before with no problems... no cracking etc. I was having a bunch of stuff coated so wanted to match the color.
The shop should have some clue... see they are coils and set up to suit.
