What to use for a Snorkel Head?

Hey

As the subject states, im making a staino snorkel this week and im looking for something to use on the top to stop water getting in.
I was gunna use a standard snorkel head but they are like 100 plus, screw that.

Any ideas? and pics!

Still $100 ish, but I suggest a Top Spin element from Donaldson/Amsoil.

go to a truck spares ie qld diesal spares,hwy diesal spares ect
each state has them you will find aftermarket ram heads from
$30-$40 & upwards

TJM sell proper ones for around $60 when I last bought mine.
Safari are way to expensive! :roll:

I also heard truck spares places have cheap ones too.

You should be able to buy a Donaldson air ram head from any filter shop for around $50

I swear the sarafi ones at ARB kilsyth are only $30-$50.

$6 in cold chrome paint can fix that!

A donaldson 'safari' style ram head is ~ $30 from most diesel spares shops, and available in a wide range of sizes.

In NZ the smallest head that Donaldson supply is 100mm, that is what I used on my steel 100mm snorkle.


So you need to watch out for the correct diameter to fit your tube

I picked up a 75mm Donaldson ram head just recently so they do make them.

I was guessing that they were about 100 bucks cos thats what the safari ones sell for on ebay.
I'll check out truckline around here n see what they got to offer.

I went to truckline today and got a 3" donaldson one for 30 bucks.
