Sounds like it's going to be a rip snorter of an event. Can't wait as there is going to be some really good teams there. Bring on the CREEK RUNS.

Believe the Cliffhanger is already a national event, whether we need to head down the road for the need to attract international teams is debateable. The organisers of the Cliffhanger need to trend carefully or the event will up a "status" event where only those competitors with the capacity to invest vast sums of money will be able to compete. I have seen the Cliffhanger encompass all that other top notch events provide in terms of stages but at an investment within the reach of the majority and not the minority.

The end result of events such as the Australia Safari and others where we won't utter there names cater for those who can afford the ever increasing entry fee. It is understood without question that the organisers need to cover their costs with some extra but not at the expense of competitors who wish to compete in a sport that is expensive for them to build their rigs but want to have some enjoyment and fun. We are not Formula One and unless we are careful the end result will be events that are expensive and only for the special few. Gary

Gary this event is always going to attract big dollar rigs because we all have one thing in common, we all love 4WD competition. The cost of this event, the prizes on offer and the stages are the best out there so it's definitely going to attract them. As you know though if you can't use a GPS or navigate yourself through Cliffhanger stages, then a million dollar rig will not help you out there. Also the Navrun guys definitely don't rate you on how much your rig is worth and they put stages in there to slow down the faster rigs with tight and technical tracks.

Bring on the Internationals, mark NAVRUN on the International calendar I say.

It's obvious that these guys aren't out to make a million bucks from it as it's their passion, you can see that a mile away.



I do think you should spend that little bit extra and buy a NISSAN though, so you can compete in all of the stages rather than fixing a Rangie for half of the event....LOL.

Sunday Night Stage 1 - Note there will be a prologue on the Sunday night. It will be a half hour navigation dash to about 6 points only. Sounds easy enough. This stage has been in all Claiffhangers and has managed to take out at least 1 swivel housing every year. Let's call it "The Muppet Show" in '08. We will run 5 groups of 10 rigs at a time and is very close to camp.

Make sure you dont rock up so late that you miss this stage - the points count. Last group will start at about 10pm and you need to be registered and srutineer/log book checked etc before hand.

The purpose is 2 fold. 1) We will set Monday/Tuesday groups based on the results of this stage and 2) It will thin the field down so we can send half the marshals home early ...

What an excellent stage to start on, there's some big gooleys and washouts in that high speed paddock.

2DEXTREME seriously strong front control arms are definitely a must for this stage and event as Muppet broke 2 standard arms in 1 go from one of the smaller washouts that were hidden by darkness. An investment that will save a lot of money from repairs. These arms are made to order to suit any size lift for most types of 4b's and for conversions from one type of chassis to another type of diff housing assembly. So all of those Rangies and others that Hobzee said can have NISSAN running gear under them to make 'em stronger.

I've gotta say i can vouch for those arms. I was up all night fixing Muppets GU that drove through the same stuff that Todd hit at warp speed 53... There was actually two comments Todd... One was refering to us needing some suspension like yours and the other one i can't repeat in public but i wasn't liking you at the time

BTW, any patrol not running drop boxes cant be serious about going fast. I chucked a set on my old shitter (Go the GQ Class I say ... but not at CH)and she scoots along so much quicker through bumps. I am lining up a set of Dale's arms so we have one less thing to break.

Guys, I had a good chat with Hobzee about this event on the weekend..

Firstly i think those that have reservations about the success of this event should be the ones offering assistance to aid it's success rather than not wanting anything to do with it..

From all Hobzee said they seem to be well on the way to conducting the biggest, best and most organised 4wd event that this country has seen. We went through just about every aspect of the event from catering, toilets and camping to stages, marshals and emergency response...

Just an indication without getting to indepth... The local firebigade will be there, not just to fight fires, but as we know these guys are trained for all emergency situations. Should the worst happen, there'll be professional help on the property. How good is that.

Catering will be staggered to get everybody fed in an organised manner.

Camp ground will be organised to keep traffic minimal in camping areas and traffic flow one way. In other words the kids running around and riding pushy's will be much safer!

They're enlisting the help of some highly regarded organisers and competitors to assist with leading marshals and spectator groups.

Stages will all be organised in advance.

Point score system is being revised to account for extra cars..

And soooooo much more..

There is a long time to go (although it'll come around too fast) so get involved NOW. Pledge your support and be a part of the most professional 4wd events in this country rather than watching it from a distance

Dan, having completed three cliffhangers and knowing the work Rudi and Hobezze puts in I am sure we will not be disappointed in 2008. Very glad to hear that planning and the employment of additional assistance/support is well advanced. If planning was not under way at this stage will only lead to a disorganised event which will result in its death knell.

Happy to support in whatever way I can from South Australia. Since the event started three years ago through my business have provided sponsorship to various teams, as I wanted this event to move forward, unfortuately having sold the business will not be able to do so in the future. It is very pleasing to see currently we have four teams from South Australia entered for next year.

The most important aspect of the success of any venture relies on its foundation and keeping those involved informed and updated. Other events (and I am talking house hold named events) unfortuately fail to inform the competitors/spectators of development of the event. So keep the communication channels open.

Ruffy, just how hard do you have to whip a mule (Chris) to make it go that quick??? Has the Mule been effected by this ecquine flu and will you be allowed to race???

Yes we are taking spectator registrations now. 20% deposit. Balances due end of May. To assist with budgets we are doing monthly hits on credit cards and this way it don't hurt as much. Let us know if you wish to pay that way and what % each month. Rudes is real good at taking $ off people and he will do it any style you prefer ....
