Looks trick but I would have done away with the intermediate shaft altogether as we have done. By using a CV from VW u could have cut the output shaft of the gearbox off and cut a piece of VW drive shaft and machined it down to fit into the output shaft of the gearbox and welded them together. The VW CV bolts to the Sierra transfer case input flange and it all connects together also allowing for movement and some misalignment between gearbox and transfer case. This would have given you a longer rear tailshaft to play with as this only takes up about 120mm in all if that.

we are not using a vit box.it seems this would be weak to me,not saying it wouldnt work though.and 120mm vs 200mm is not that much more shaft.
