I have just changed from standard wheels and tyres to 15x7 with 31x10.5 and noticed both front and back diffs are sticking out 3/4 inch more on the drivers side than the passengers side. Just after possible explanations for this.

Did you do any suspension lift to fit these tyres???

I have only done 2inch body lift. Tyres fit under easy but tyres rub on full lock.

might be a silly question but were all rims the same back spacing?.

I have just measured rims and all are the same. I also noticed at the back (which is in the one spot all the time) the pass. side tyre is covered by flare and the drivers side only the tread is covered.(and I measured the flares and they are the same width)

Have you moved the car since you changed the wheels? Did you use a jack to lift up one side of the car then the other? If so maybe your bushe s are very soft or you have really flexy extended shackles and the chassis isn't sitting directly over the diffs, try moving the car a few meters if you havn't already. If you have already moved the car ignore all of the above.

I have found that the diffs are rarely perfectly centered under a Sierra. My front left sits out of the guard more than the front right.

Another stupid question but you did line the body back up properly when the blocks went in I have seen some put in on the piss mainly when using box section.

swap the rims over and see if still the same on other side.

Today i swapped rear wheels and it made no diff. Sam, the body lift was done sober (for a change) and the body is still square with the chassis. I did ntice a slight lean but I don't think that has anything to do with diff position. I took these pics and hope they are of some help. Thanx for all the ideas.

If its on a lean it can make it seem like the diff is offset, when really it isn't

I'd measure the height from tyre to flare, to make sure it is level, and if not, just jack one side of the chassis till it is level and see if the tyres then look like they stick out the same amount each side.

his is leaning to the left, not the right like normal.. did u put all the rubbers in with the blocks? whose bl kit did u use??

According to the Chassis specs there is a few mm of variance either plus or minus. This is normal. Measure ANY car closely enough and you will find differences. On a Zook, any measurement over 1000mm can be out +/- 4mm or more. Don't stress. If you are really worried you could always fit a pair of spacers(5-6mm) to one side to even it up.

thats +-4mm from factory too - imagine what 20years of abuse does to the chassis as well!

i'd check the springs arent sagged on the passengers side (or if theyre new springs, the manufacturer may have stiffened up the drivers side to counter the zuk lean... my old springs were like this.

Gee, here am I thinking it was just a factory thing. I dont recall ever seeing a Zuk that doesn't have this issue :D

his is leaning on the wrong side though... should be the drivers side that leans cos of the engine torque + driver + fuel tank all on that side...
