xhaust - am I getting ripped??

Post by ash_on_mtb »

How's this....?

91 80 series, 4.2d

To do a new exhaust for it, supplied and fitted, 2.5" 'sports' system and extractors, all new, muffler and res,

$1500...

Is that even in the ballpark of realistic...? (because it sure as $hit isn't for me...!!)

Whats the story with those Beaudesert ones I see many people have? Are they a kit form, DIY or what?? They haven't gotten back to me to find out.

Cheers all.

A Beaudesert full system will set you back 1300 inc gst. How long do you think it will take to fit, thats where the balance will be.

I had a 2.5" turbo back system installed, with new dump pipe, stainless flex bellows and lukey muffler for $500. Awesome job too! :D

I paid $800 for cat back 2.5inch new resonator and muffler. So $1500 for extractors and cats on top is about right IMO.

I was quoted $1000+gst for a 3" turbo back inc. SS flex joint and 1 straight-through muffler, with flanged joins throughout.

Is that reasonable?

exhaust

Post by Cruza62 »

I'm making my exhaust and its costing sweet FA....
for the price that most people have paid they could have bought the tools to do the job and made their own too.. maybe that's what you should look into, at the end of the day it's just a bit of pipe with bends which you can buy.
62 was Petrol, now 12ht ! Body lift, lockers, spring lift, reverse offset rocrawler...? rims, NO RUST, some more stufffff....

It depends if you have the skills or not to do it properly, i have seen some dreadful home fabrication jobs over the years...but then again i have seen some very good ones too!
