Sorry mate but HotFourOk is spot on - there is NOTHING that bolts in.
Only option is to change complete rear axle. Toyota is the obvious choice as they have a 5.285 ratio available to match the stock front.
Works well but is not dead easy.

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.

This is where my knowledge of the real world falls down a little.
In theory diffs don't have to be the same if the front to rear drive ratios in the transfer case are adjusted appropriately. This concept can be used to adjust the torque split between front and rear by gearing.
However having said that - I don't know if any 4WD's actually do this - everything I know about ( and that's limited ) have the same F & R ratios...
Others ?

and guido1985 the Feroza diffs are Daihatsu made even the axle spline is uncommon.
THe fact that they are 5.285, and Toytota make a 5.285 is simply a coincidence based on similar needs.
5.285 is actually a function of the crownwheel and pinion tooth count so there arn't an unlimited spread of ratios available.

OK guys, mechanically challanged guy here. if I need/want to lower my gear ratios (as I have put on larger 33's tyres), what would be the best way, changing differentials or gearbox or ????

No clear answer here...
There's no interchangable diff - its a complete rear axle swap. But at 5.285:1 the Feroza's diff ratio is already higher than most vehicles. If you go toyota there's a 5.7:1 ( or thereabouts, always forget ).
Gearbox/Transfer -no interchangable gearbox so a complete transmission transfer change is required.
Whats' the actual problem you are wanting to solve ? Is it road rpm or crawl ratio ?
Have done both.

They are both affected, on the road I experience very slow pull off and when off roading i always have to go right down to low range 1st gear for any obstical.
Although I am known for a heavy foot, this is not always the answer to every challange (BOY it has taken me awhile tol earn that).
So was looking at lowering the gear ratio to give me back my low end grunt.

Welcome to my world....
There's really nothing you can do that isn't heaps of work - except make more engine power.
Won't solve the underlying problem - but its "doable" without heavy engineering. A DeTomaso HD-EG engine would make a difference, but will require a bit of work and a rewire to take the different ecu.
Cam might be a bit too wild but that's fixable.
If you have any other solution - please share it with me.......
