G'day all,
I am rebuilding the front diff in my Stage I at the moment (at long bloody last). I have decided to do a conversion to Bearings in the swivel housing (normally has a bush in the top)
Also is it worth keeping the Stage I CV's to use in my project 90 ? The Stage I CV's are stronger than the RR ones aren't they? and i would fit RR ones to the Stage I. Would it be worth it?? or just keep the RR's in my project and Stage I CV's in the Stage I ??

Well there ya go i was under the impression that sieries 123 were fitted with uni joints on the front simaler to sheep and boards with danas.
While your there das on the rear diff of a series3 salsbury does the wheel bearing flange unbolt from the housing via five or six bolts ?
Like the front does for the swivel hub on a rangie
Larry.

Do you mean keep the Stage I CV's in the Stage I ? Or keep the Stage I CV's for my project 90? (which is running a RR front diff)

Yes I have....I just bought 2 new ones as I twisted both the front ones (and one broke). It was cheaper to buy maxi-drive ones than standard ones.

The only problem you have is DAS....
the stage 1 drive flanges/hubs are 6-bolt and the RR are 5-bolt. So you would need to get some defender drive flanges to fit the stage 1 CV's to the 90 (or buy MD ones at about $120 each), and you would then need to get county or 200Tdi defender rear hubs (drum type) to be able to bolt the RR drive flange/stub axle assembly to the new front hubs. Other than that it should all swap over.
