35 INCH CLAWS ON GQ
35 INCH CLAWS ON GQ
Someone has told me that now i have 35 inch claws on the gq i will be snapping cvs left, right and centre. I have twin ARB lockers. They said they know a fella that snaps heaps now he has them on, but i don't know how he drives. Is there any truth in this
but yes ... u will be snapping more then usual ... if ur goin wheelin try not to use ur front locker till u get really stuck ... then use it ... and try to keep the wheels straight while usin the front locker ....
it'll improve ur driving ....
i've snapped a few CV's on my ute and i've only got 32" rubber on atm

YEah I thought that. I shouldn't have to use the locker as much in the front i hope and certianly turning hard with power on would b a cause for havoc, but i hope they don't break as easy as i suspect. Might buy a spare just in case. I was looking at the strengthened ones but i thought it might create a problem elsewhere like th diff for instance?
Thanks

Isn't the gu housing wider? And yes i will try to go most places without the front locker, usless i need it of course. As a mate said if u r breaking cvs then u have to much traction in the first place-generally speaking. Anyone heard about the strengthened cvs u can buy - something like they have been heat treated?

why bother printing this shit in Red, its the most c unt colour to see on this background, if you wanna be HTML god, just use something BRIGHT, or maybe just the white standard color??

Novel idea
Carlton ran them for AGES without dramas. A little spastic at times though.
they don't have enough traction to break matchsticks untill they are 6 months old anyway. Use this time to unspasticate you driving skills

Breaking a CV is not the worst thing that can happen off road, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Deep scratches in paint are more annoying to me than a broken CV. As others have said, learning how to use lockers comes with time and lots of trails, don't rely on lockers to improve your driving skills, learn to use the round thing in front of you and the pedals under your feet, before you reach for the buttons. You will be a much better driver in the long run.
Some guys that I film in competition break 5 CV's in a weekend, and they drive prolly about average for competitors thesedays, so if you're just a weekend warrior, you might break one every six months. I don't drive as hard as most guys, but I've not broken one in the last three years, with JT2s on the wagon, ARB's F & R.

Built, not bought.
Yes getting used to a front air locker (previously had detroit front & rear ARB) Funny enough the claws where great and after heating the flares to bend the out the only place they hit was the rear inner on full compression. Man gotta love those claws. I didn't have to use the front locker much because it gripped so much - and no broken cvs! (yet) as they all said don't drive like a spaz and it'll do. Just thought i'd pass it on
